i have one booked :( just wondering the ways they induce you? as they havent told me yet, are there any risks involved? and your experiences? thank you x x

Hi i was induced last wed. They gave me a pessary (without dumbing it down and being patronising but i didnt know what they would do.... they put a tablet just inside your cervix.... it wasnt painful :) and reviewed after 6 hours (internal examination!) but no progress so given a second pessary.

This then caused prostin pains ( i was warned they are more painful than labour and unfortunately its true as the pain was constant for 11 hours).
My waters broke spontaneously 11 hours later but you may need them breaking if this doesnt happen.
Good luck hun - if you get prostin pains try having a bath!!

They should have already told you how..i got mine booked yesterday
& my doc told me what will happen in my case.

I'm having the pessary/tablet inserted in the morning & if it hasnt fully worked
another one later on....then the next day they would break waters

You can also have the drip in your hand..

Like i said tho this is what there doing with me, im sure everyone would be
different.

Sorry cant offer advice havent had it done yet lol x

thanks ladies, sorry to sound like an idiot but do they keep you in hospital after the pessery? or send you home to wait? my hospital is a right pain, just told me they would explain on the day! x x

you stay in even if the first pessary doesnt work. They put the pessary in on labour suite then that night transferred me to post natal ward until i went into labour then went back down to labour suite. Make sure you eat and drink plenty as once i went into labour i couldnt have anything to eat for 36 hours and could of eaten midwifes arm off!
