Does anyone have any tips on how to avoid bruising?

Sometimes my injections are fine, no blood at all, and other times they bleed and I end up with horrible bruising.

My menopur tonight gave me a 2" bruise!

Have you tried icing the area before/after? I'm not sure if it helps or not but somehow I ended up with bruises only where they did blood work and not my actual injection sites and that's all I did.

Try applying pressure to the injection site as soon as you remove the needle. Do it for a good minute or so. One the the lab technicians taught me that trick and it worked well for me. Even though I was doing three shots per day for 10 days I only had one small bruise.

Good luck!

Try moving the exact injection spot slightly. When I was doing my PIO shots, I found the further away from center of my buttocks I was the more likely I was to bruise. I found a spot that wouldn't bruise so I always tried to get it in that spot. But yes, pressure after pulling the needle out should help.

Try rubbing the spot before you do the injection and avoid moving the needle when it's already in your skin...
