Hi,
after my first pregnancy it took me 5 months and with my second it took about 9 months.I gained alot with both pregnancies( 4 stone+) and have gained 3 stone so far with this one,it was getting me down but i figure i've done it twice before and i'll do it again  so i've relaxed a bit and am just enjoying being pregnant.
Both times i joined weight watchers to loose my weight and walked for miles with baby and i'm doing that again.
I know its easy to say but try not to let it get to you too much, you'll get back to your old self but don't put too much pressure on yourself.its all worth it. :hugs:

I gained about 6 stone with DD, most of it was water retention for me as well. I lost it all in 6 months. Because most of it was water I lost sooooo much in the first few weeks, it was fantastic as I could weigh myself 3 times a day and each time have lost weight every time!! :) I also BFed which I think helped as well.

Try not to get too down about your weight (easier said than done) but eat healthily when LO is born and you'll lose it in no time :)

I had my baby 10weeks ago and I was back to pre preg weight within 7weeks :) I put on approx 3 stone.... Breastfeeding is making the weight fall off!

you can really tell if you have gained more water or fat by the timing of weight gain..if you have been gaining weight steadily thru out the pregnancy then its most like going to stick around for a while and take work to get off but if you have recently put on a bunch of lbs and swollen then its water retention and it will come off real fast..
My first pregnancy I have pre-eclampsia and was retaining water like crazy so after delivery I lost 30lbs in the first 2 weeks!
second time around I gained 47lbs over the whole pregnancy period and it was more of fat than water so I lost 18lbs of baby stuff the first two weeks and the rest took a lot of hard work and dieting even though I BF but it didn't do the magic it does for other ladies..by 1 year pp I was down below my pre-pregnancy weight but it took a lot of dedication.

i put on about a stone and a half till 30 weeks now ive put on nearly 4 stone and my legs feet ankles wrists hands face br all swollen!!! xxxxx

I put on half a stone during my last pregnancy but a week after she was born I was down 3 stone, so I was 2.5 stone below my pre-pregnany weight.

This time I haven't put on any weight yet, so I expect to be a good bit lighter. I'm carrying gallons of fluid, my legs are like treetrunks and my feet are spherical! I can't wait for them to feel normal again, it's really not comfy.
