Hey guys. I was wondering how accurate your intuition has been with your babies in determining gender? I think my Elayna is in there but I don't know how I can be so sure. What do you think?

my 1st i was right :pink:
my 2nd i was also right :blue:
this my 3rd Baby i initally taught girl but as soon as i seen baby i knew boy and it is :blue:

Both mine were right. First pregnancy I wanted a girl so bad and just knew it and it was. Didn't confirm until 34 weeks..
With this one I wanted a boy so bad but had a feeling it was girl.. And sure enough.. Confirmed at 18 weeks..
So in my case I believe in mother's intuition..

I was right that we're having a boy. I just had that 'feeling' plus it helped that the only name I could think of was a boy's name

i always wanted a boy so thought with my first boy, then girl and he was obviously a boy so kinda got it right hahaha

with baby 2 i knew i was going to have a boy, no idea why i thought it but i was right :)

i had my girl name all planned and then decided on a boys name just in time to find out

My intuition was right - thought girl and we are having a Sophia in August :)

I will know on the 8th. I have had this feeling its is a little boy I am carrying, don't know why but for sure think it is a boy. If its a girl then that would be great too. I will post backand let u know:)

As soon as I got my bfp I knew it was a boy. I had my heart set on a girl because I picked out the PERFECT girl name, Amelia Noelle. For the life of me I couldn't think of a boy name, which is how I knew I was carrying a little man. The night before my private gender scan at 17 weeks the perfect boy name popped into my head, Roman Oliver, confirmed the next morning the he was in fact the little boy I knew I was having.

Totally weird, I couldn't think of a little girls name to save me, but we could find everything we loved boy. Deep down I KNEW I was carrying a girl. Then one day before we found out I was going through a list of names in a book with my OH and he said he loved the name Sophia. :)

Sophia is a lovely name, it was up there on my list of girl names. It was so frustrating though, I KNEW I was having a boy before we had the gender scan and no matter how hard I tried I couldn't find a boy name that I liked. I had a list of lovely girls names but I knew they didn't matter lol.

You and your OH sound just like DH and I. He turned down everything I suggested and then couldn't think of anything he actually liked. We've picked the name Roman Oliver, but aren't making it 100% official yet (DH's wishes) just to leave the option open in case we find something better. I already know this name is set in stone, DH just doesn't realize it yet  So what middle name did you pick?

Love that name! I like 'different' names, OH likes plain names. I'm SO surprised he picked out the name Sophia. He likes names like, Emily and John. (Nothing wrong with those names!)

I LOVE the name Roman Oliver. I love the name Oliver in general, (Ollie especially) Where are you from? I'm from the US and honestly have never met anyone named Roman.

Sophia's middle name is going to be Anlynn - and no one seems to be able to get it in person. We always have to repeat ourselves and then they look at us kind of funny. I don't think it's that hard of a name to understand. :haha:

Thanks!! I like "different" names as well. When I was going to school there were always at least 3-6 people with my name and it absolutely drove me up a wall.

DH didn't like the name at first, but we were talking about it the other day and he admitted that it just sounds really good together. I'm from the US as well, the Chicago area. I think part of the reason I liked the name Roman Oliver so much was because I've never met anyone with either name, so it's unique but not unique in a way that people look at you as though you were on drugs when you picked the name.

Anlynn is lovely! I wouldn't have thought of it myself. Is it pronounced Ann-Lynn?

:haha: your post made me lol. I know some people who I think were on drugs when they picked their childrens names out. :haha:

Ann is a family middle name for both sides of our families. Lynne is my sisters middle name and she is the one person in the world I can always count on. So, Anlynn it is! Yes, it's pronounced Ann-Lynn :)

I don't see what is so strange about Anlynn. It sounds the same way it's spelled. It's nice that you've named her after your sister in some way, I'm sure she's honored.

There are a LOT of truly strange names out there, like the celeb that named her daughter Apple... seriously?

I saw a link not long ago of celebrity names. Some were like they were on acid.

"Flower Rainbow Petal" Stupid names.
"Pilot Inspecktor"

Poor kids.

Oh jesus. I suppose it's a really good thing those kids don't attend actual school... I don't even want to imagine the grief they would get from other kids. Unique names are great, but naming your child something obnoxious like that... come on.
