Is anyone else worried about losing weight after the baby is born?

I've never been a super slim person, just healthy, not overweight, but not underweight. My diet and exerice routine has always been mild and long term, ie. regularly walking and have a healthy balanced diet.

I'm getting so worried now because I've put on a lot...A LOT...of weight since I've been pregnant - 2 stones (28 pounds) to be exact. Not because of bad diet and lack of exercise...no idea what it could be, it just happened as soon as I found out I was pregnant.

Now I'm really worried that I wont be able to shed the pounds after the baby is born because I'll be busy trying to look after the baby and wont have time or I wont be able to commit to exericising properly because the baby will need attention (nappy change, feed, crying...one after the other).

Anyone else feel like this, and have words of wisdom for losing weight?

As i understand...Dee is going straigh back to weight watchers but is worried she won't shift the pounds as she thinks like yourself that Jenson will need all her time and effort.

i was super motivated after my son was born.. more than ive ever been and breastfeeding really helps to use calories! i was back to my pre-pregnancy weight (Which was still too heavy lol) within 3 1/2 weeks! .. (and id put on a lot!)
I had a deal with the midwifes to not tell me my weight during pregnancy so that i wouldnt feel too overwhelmed with how much i had to lose!! it seemed to work!
Try not to worry! a lot of it is fluid too!
xx

hi try not to worry, i had my 3rd son on the 14june and went to turkey on hols 6 weeks later and was back in my bikini and all my own clothes :D, enjoy your pregnacy :D, im now expecting baby no.4 and better be back in my size 10 in 6 weeks ha ha x x

Nine months on, nine months off. Don't pressure yourself, it's just not worth it!

It took me 7 months to get to just over what I was pre pregnancy then I fell again and got to what I was pre pregnancy last time as I lost weight this pregnancy iykwim, last time I put on 4 stone but do remember it takes 9 months to gain the weight so don't push yourself and your not supposed to exercise until 6 weeks after babys born if you have a straight forward delivery and longer if you have a c-section.

Also baby will take up alot of time I only had just started going to the gym (went twice) then found out I was expecting another LO :)

im hoping that the breastfeeding, and running around after LO and tidying, cleaning etc after bubs is born will help! im trying to to worry about it too much though.

they say u should allow and norm take a year to loose weight as thats healthy way of doing it, u should not worry, my mate moans if she puts a pond on so i said well dont get preg then

Im much in the same boat, I have always been concious about my weight, Im a good height, and just before falling pregnant worked my butt off to loose 8 kgs. Then found out i was pregnant. I am now at 76 kgs, but still have 3.5 months to go hun. I thnk its best to0 look at it as your lo comes first, as long as your healthy enough to look after lo and yourself then naturally it will come off to hun xx

I'm similar but very overweight. I lost 3 stone before I got married in April and gained it all back straight after! I'm so determined in 2010 to get slimmer and fitter to keep up with LO. I won't have a car then as hubby will use it so I'll be walking more, breastfeeding and hope that will help lose some weight.

The only thing I'm not comfortable with is living by the Med. When we move, we will be within 1/2 mile of the beach, and families there spend the entire summer at the beach, from May to September.

I'm going to have to get my beach body back as soon as possible, or have to wear a one-piece for the rest of my life. One-pieces are okay I guess, but my body is longer than most people's, so one-pieces are rarely long enough for me, so often my boobs pop out or the cut off the circulation in my inner leg. Hmmm....
