Is EWCM necessary for conception?

Sorry TMI, but what does clear, thin, almost watery CM indicate? Because that's what I had when I was supposedly in my fertile window. Is that usually something you would find pre, post, or during ovulation? I haven't had any EWCM, and now it has a white tinge and not stretchy at all. I'm trying to learn to tell where I am in my cycle based on the type of CM but it's proving difficult.

what i heard from my gyne, Clear and Watery CM is as good as EWCM.

It really helps if you have lots if this as the spermies can swim around lots & wait while egg is being released, i only seem to get this on the day of ovulation but im now using Conceive Plus fertility lube, same as Preseed i think, this is same as ewcm & helps sperm motilty, i used it when i fell preggers with my son good luck all
