Is it a chavy name?

I love TED! lol

I also love Stan, Reggie and Arthur but I am a little bit unhinged.

Me and my sis-in-law had only just discussed the other week some ridiculous baby names people around us have named their babies - she mentioned Ted, so I couldn't believe it when OH said it with a straight face.

I quite like Arthur. Stan and Reggie.. hmm..

Bump is Joseph at the moment but that's fairly likely to change - he was Jasper for weeks if he turned out to be a boy, til OH totally went off it!

When you mentioned Ted, it brought to mind a nickname we had in school for one of the teachers, Teddy Edwards no idea what his first name actually was. OH has just said Super Ted...:haha::haha:

The other day we were driving on the motorway picking up names from trucks and vans....Eddie from Eddie Stobbart etc and matching them up with our surname many of them gave us a good giggle if nothing else.

Sorry I'm poo at replying, I'm on my phone and it is completely useless and near to impossible to read some posts :(

I think Tia is a nice name... BUT I've only known very young mums or ones that like a few drinks (or both!) to use it. That would put me off from using it.

DH and I had a piece of paper on the fridge and we each added names as we thought of them, then went through together crossing them off in turn.

My test for whether a name was suitable (other than liking it) was to try to imagine Bianca Jackson screaming it in the street - if you can, it's a no-go.

I can't remember how we came up with Jasper but it was going to be shortened to Jazz anyway :D

We do something similar. How does the name sound in a rough Glasgow accent? If it's ok, and can't be too badly mangled, then it's a possibility. Most names sound horrible though so it rules out loads easily!

There is no Tias in my area and its such a sweet name, how about Caitlin its my little girls name and shes my little angel. Shes called Caitlin Louise. If I have another girl I like anna and chloe.

I would not say chavvy as like it was said before it depends who the names is on to whether it is chavvy. but i dont like it because my friends dog is called it so it will always remind me of a staffy

Annabel can be lovely when it's shortened to Annie? I can see you with an Annie. Charlotte can be Lottie. Maria is too old (it's my mother's name and my middle name).

Seems you both agree on Keira though? Just gone off it?

How about:

Poppy
Grace/Gracie
Evie
Eva
Ava
Lola (i LOVE)
Lucy
Emma
Millie
Daisy
Maisie
Rosie (ooooh I can see you with a Rosie too actually.....)

I am having a very traditional Irish name if Dave is a girl but I'm not telling what it is!!!

I like Rosie and I like Evie, oh and Lola :-) With Keira I'm in too minds because again I've got it in to my head that it is very popular at the moment so it has put me off. Keira is very sentimental to my family because my mum had a little girl 10 years ago called Kiera so we said we would like to name our baby after my sister (my mum says she would love us to) Maisie is cute too, but again very popular at the minute. I'm thinking our little girl will just be called baby hardy!

I'm sure your name is lovely :-)

Ha ha! I think Tia is definatley off the cards, I keep picturing me shouting my little girl and a big dog running up to me instead :haha:

I know! I like old names and it'll be fashionable soon, just wait and see.

OH likes Noah but I can't imagine telling a Noah off 'No, Noah. no no no' and what do you shorten it too? N?

Names he's kind of going along with are Eddie, Freddy, Jamie, Charlie, Barney and Max. I have always loved Max but surname is Macklin-Adams so a bit of a mouthful??

I'll hold you to that, my bets are on that it won't be fashionable, but we will wait and see ;)

I really like Max, it is a lovely name. I think it is just the Max Macklin bit that is a bit of a mouthful, but still, it is a lovely name. I love Charlie too, I can imagine a Charlie being a very cheeky little chappy! Oh and my friend has a Noah and it really suits him, I really like it :-)

They said that about Alfie and Archie a few years ago and now they are everywhere........:winkwink:

How long do you think it will take before everybody is having baby reggies? ;)

I'll write myself a note 'Reggie, Moo' that will certainly jog my memory however bad my baby brain gets ;)

I think there is more chance of the name 'Donald' becoming fashionable, but it will be interesting to see ;)
