Hi everybody :-)

I was just wondering what your opinions were of the name Tia? My other half, his family and my family seem to really like it but I think it is a bit of a chavy name, although I did like it before I decided that ;) What do you think? x

My friends little girls middle name is Tia :) It's lovely x

i think it is a little bit too. Sorry

How about Maya (not meeeee-a but myyyyy-a)? Touch of class methinks.

You're really struggling aren't you hun?

Do you or Mark have an ancestry elsewhere? Wales? Scotland? Ireland? etc etc

It kind of depends on your area and how you bring her up. If you're respectable, which I'm sure you are, hee hee! then she will be fine. I'd say if you live in a less well off area and she's out hanging around the streets when she's bigger then yes it will be more chavvy, but unless you bring her up to be a Chav then she won't be whatever you name her, does that make sense! (still sleepy after my afternoon nap!)

I dont think its chavvy in the slightest :dohh:

ETA - Sorry i was in a rush, i dont think ANY name is chavvy, its the person that makes the name sound chavvy, not the name.

I quite like the name! :) I do know one chavvy teenage lass called Tia, but i also know a few cute children called Tia, what was you thinking for a middle name?

Ps. I really like Maya!!! ;)

I wouldn't say it is but a lot of chavs that I know have called their little girls Tia.

It is a gorgeous name though!

I like Maya, but I wouldn't of thought Mark will because he doesn't like any name I like, the big pain in the arse! (he is firmly in my bad books tonight!)

I think Tia is cute, but when I think of the name I automatically think of a 13 year old girl calling her daughter it, which isn't a great opinion to have.

We've got no ancestry anywhere else, Marks family are through and through Yorkshire people and I'm just normal :)

my niece is called tia, it's not chavy. at the end of the day it's what u like that counts doesn't matter what other people say so sod them!!

Thank you for your opinions ladies :-) I like to think of myself respectable ha ha! But the area i currently live in is far from that! I see what you mean about the person who has the name making it chavy or not depending on their personality, but I'm still thinking that Tia is a little chavy for me.

As for middle names, I quite like Isla :-) x

I couldn't agree more :-D Although I felt slightly guilty for not even considering the name for them, but at least now I have :)

:haha::haha: that bit made me laugh!!

You need to toss a few names (that you like) around just sort of playing, and when he says he likes one, say really??!!!!!! Let him think it's his idea..... Bless his heart.

I feel the same way as you about 'Tia'. I agree it can be the circles you move in etc and as I work in a jobcentre I happen to come across a chav or two :winkwink: (not saying all people in jcp's are chavs before anyone gets antsy!!) so unfortunately a lot of names are off limits to me as I can place at least one chav per name! :haha::haha::haha:

What have you got it down to know? Just first names.

When I told him I like Isla, he said hmmmm, yes that's ok. The next day comes "so Mark, do you like Isla then?" "No, i don't like it enough" end of discussion of the name Isla. Grumpy sod ;)

On Marks list we have:

Charlotte
Keira
Alanna
Annabelle
Maria

Mine:

Keira
Leila
Isla

I know he has more than me, but his are awful :hehe: Apart from Keira of course :-)

Oh and as for the job centre, I know exactly what you mean. I went in there once when I was out of work to claim jobseekers allowance and I swiftly walked straight back out again :haha: x

Annabel can be lovely when it's shortened to Annie? I can see you with an Annie. Charlotte can be Lottie. Maria is too old (it's my mother's name and my middle name).

Seems you both agree on Keira though? Just gone off it?

How about:

Poppy
Grace/Gracie
Evie
Eva
Ava
Lola (i LOVE)
Lucy
Emma
Millie
Daisy
Maisie
Rosie (ooooh I can see you with a Rosie too actually.....)

I am having a very traditional Irish name if Dave is a girl but I'm not telling what it is!!!

Lol your OH's list of names sound's like mine. Men eh! xx

They are such puddings aren't they ;) I wish I could shake him up and get all the awful names out of his head. He keeps trying to convince me that Charlotte isn't common!!!! :haha: x
