If this is in the wrong forum, I apologise. It's a bit of a strange situation so I couldn't decide where I should post! I've not been on here for a long time but I need help and I'm hoping someone here can advise me. I have 4 children and was sterilised at my last c section. My periods have been super regular since then, every 4th Saturday, in the morning, AF arrives, this has been without fail for over 2 years. This month I'm 4 days late, have lower abdominal pains (stabby type pains but not unbearable), exhaustion, sore boobs, metallic taste, basically every pregnancy symptom going. I did a test this morning and bfn (I thought I could see a slight line but no one else can so I'm thinking I have line-eye). Obviously I'm not charting or anything but going by cm, I'd guess I ovulated around May 6/7th & would have been due AF on May 13th.

Basically, why I'm asking is, is it possible that because I ov late (as I always do) I may be pregnant but not getting bfp yet? I know that sterilisation at c section has a higher failure rate so I guess it's possible. I'm so stressed out I'd be thrilled if I were pregnant, but this limbo is awful! I'd be so grateful for any advice.

Is it usual for you to have such a short luteal phase at only a week long, or did I misread?

Somehow I missed that! I wonder if she looked at the calendar wrong and meant o would have been April 28/29 and AF May 13th or o on May 6/7 and AF wasn't actually due until the 20th.

I don't know if sterilisation has any impact, but that seems far too short, if correct

True, and implantation might not even get a chance to happen in that timeframe since it usually happens between 1 and 2 weeks after o. There's only a slight chance implantation would occur before AF was due.

What I was thinking. Luteal phase defect is usually caused by low progesterone isn't it? I don't know if there are any other causes. I hope this isn't the case anyway

Every cycle she'd have a 3 week wait for o, then only a week until AF. Since that's really abnormal, I'd lean toward the wrong dates. I hope so for her sake! That would be rough.

I hope the dates are wrong. A week long lp would definitely indicate something was wrong, but could be fixed relatively easily, depending on the issue and severity
