Is it possible to have a hard time ovulating, but also being really fertile?

What I mean is, my mother and my sister are SUPER fertile. My sister has very regular cycles and got pregnant every time she tried, the first time. My mother had her last child at 41 while on BC! While they have both had losses and have both taken progesterone during their pregnancies to keep them, they have both always gotten pregnant easily.

I'm wondering if it's possible that I could be the same. I need Clomid to ovulate it seems, but is it possible that I could be just as fertile as the rest of my family when I am ovulating? Anyone else have experience with that?

Hope all that makes sense.

It sounds like what makes your sister super fertile is that she is regular and knows when to BD. The unpredictability is what can make it hard to get pregnant. My mom and sister never had any problems getting pregnant and I needed clomid to ovulate also so I would consider myself less fertile than them but my uterine lining and progesterone were great. I'm sure if you just need some help ovulating then it would be the same for you! Not sure if that really answered your question

I think i know what you mean. My mum feel pregnant easily and quickly. I have pcos, I conceived twins on first month of trying but sadly lost at 10 weeks. That was the first regular cycle I'd ever had. After fertility specialist etc because I don't ovulate more than 2 or 3 times a year by myself. First cycle on clomid I ovulated on day 15 and got Bfp 10dpo which gave us our son. So the 2 times everything went right I conceived. Fingers crossed for baby number 2!

I'm sorry for your loss. I'm glad you finally got your rainbow baby though. <3 Best of luck on #2!

Yup and you probably are. For me, once I got ovulating on Clomid I got pregnant on my second cycle.

That gives me hope! I see I'm on half the dose of Metformin and Clomid that you were and I still ovulated. Maybe I'm not so bad off!

I took 50mg and didn't ovulate. So I went up to 100mg. They say there's no benefit to a higher dose if you ovulate on a lower dose. I hardly ever remembered to take the full dose of Metformin. Plus my DH's motility wasn't flash. Good luck!

My mom went months with no period ,possible PCOS when she was young but later on went on to have 3 kids , I have PCOS and went months with no periods also when I was young now I have 4 kids and am trying for one more my periods did not come regular till my 30's. both my grandmas had babies in their 40's naturally, I definitely think you can inherit your moms fertility.

Clynn, just a heads up based on your chart, you probably want to try and BD a little more often. Also, talk to your doctor about ovulating so late. I had my CD 21 blood test when I took 50mg and I hadn't ovulated by then. The doctor said if I hadn't ovulated by then then the Clomid hadn't worked. Anything later in my cycle and it wasn't a Clomid ovulation. Maybe bumping up your dose would help.

I will have to ask her about that. And we couldn't BD as much because we were on opposite schedules all week, so I'm not really expecting much to happen this month.

Hello, I had my IUD removed 6 months (maybe a but longer) ago with no such luck. I had a period the month after removal and have continued to have periods every month (started out lasting 4 to 5 days now last about 2 with the 3rd day spotting.) I believe I am at a 34/35 day cyle but I have not been ovulating. I have been on bc for 8 years but am mid 20's. Why am I having such a hard time? What am I doing wrong?
