Is it possible to miss my LH surge??

The questions pretty much in the title, this cycle I decided to use opks as my cycles have varied since I came off the evra patch in April, I started getting watery cm ad cd11 til cd13 but opks were negative (I only tested with fmu) the on cd I had ewcm and cervix was high soft and open but still a neg opk. Yesterday at cd15 I had a temp dip, opk was still negative and cm was watery cervix was high and sort of open. But then this morning I had the typical temp spike as you would after ov, but opk is still negative and no cm, If I put 2 high temps in it says I ovd on cd15.

I'm pretty confused, could I of missed my LH surge because I only test using fmu?.. Or maybe ive not ovulated ?


Please help I'm so confused!

Hey,

I don't chart so can't help on that front.

But I've heard women have got pregnant without positive OPK's before, and it is also possible to miss your surge if you're only testing once a day. Are your tests stark white or just lighter than the control line? I had a near positive but negative with FMU at 5am yesterday, positive at 9am, very positive at 1pm and by 6pm it had started fading out again!

I'm not sure if the cb digi sticks are the same as the CBFM sticks but they read diff to the cheapie OPK's, one side reads oestrogen the other LH on the CBFM, my lines on my peaks today are near enough the same colour, I need to put all my CBFM sticks together and take a pic later.

I just read on ovufriend faq, that it is possible, they say the surge COULD happen, peak and decline in a matter of hours. So if you only test once a day its possible. Not sure how common it is though.

Hey yep that's the same as mine. Nearest pee end is LH and other is oestrogen! some people say when you peak the oestrogen line is very light and LH goes very dark! my oestrogen line lightened a bit and LH a bit darker! but I think it's missed my actual surge! because I just tested with a cheap opk and there's barely a line! my surge literally came and went within a matter of hours yesterday! And I'm so so sure I ovulated yesterday from my pains and OV bleeding 2 days before.

I know me too, that's why I bought a CBFM, but glad I backed it up with OPK's as well! Did you bd over the time you think you missed your LH surge?

We bd every other day from day 6 and both nights the last 2 nights and plan to dtd tonight too

So this morning I feel more confused than ever, my temp went up again and if I put another high temp the same or higher it says I def ovd on cd15, I tested with opk again as normal this morning still negative but the lines that weren't that visible yesterday are pretty dark this morning, not really sure what to think. Cervix feels high closed and soft and cm is creamy but with a tiny bit of ewcm really don't know what's going on with my body!

Hey, do you mean the left stick is todays one? The LH looks darker on that one

Isn't charting more accurate using bbt and charting CM than OPK's? If you keep charting will it change your ovulation date in a few days or once it says you ovulated on a certain day will it not change again? I had EWCM before my positive opk or peak, then just wet and watery the past 2 ovulation days and today it's turning creamy!? Could it be that your body geared up to OV but didn't as so is trying again? Or does your chart show you definitely ovulated? Sorry I'm no help with the charting business

Yeah the on on the left is today's test darkest it's been in 2/3 days, so not sure if I'm going to ov or what. I think charting is meant to be more accurate but I'm to sure, even if I out a lower temp tomorrow it still has ov day as cd15, I'm even more confused, my cm has gone watery with some ewcm but the invest amount and cervix is high and soft this is hard work! Not sure if I should take another opk or not.

Hey there if you just started temping and using opks give youself a few cycles to get a feel for your flucuations. Usually it's hard to miss the surge but it is possible. If I were you i'd keep bd'ing until you are sure.

I have major swings and used to see a big dip and think ov was coming....sometimes it did and sometimes it wasn't until a few days later after 2-3 more crazy up and downs. I tried CBFM but it was so damn expensive and dependent on consistency on my part I started using the wondfo OPKs. The Wondfo's are really cheap..like 50 for $20. That allowed me to test 2-3 times a day whenever I wanted w/o breaking the bank. They worked very well for me and I lined them up each ovulation so I could see the trending. I attached my last chart so you could see some whacky temps to make you feel better lol.

Thanks Hun I r been temping for 8 cycles now and normally don't have many dips atall, not like the one in this cycle anyway, think I'll just keep using opks aptil I run out and keep bedding and hope for the best

I'm not sure what's going on it's pretty confusing especially as I don't understand charting, i would just bd every day or every other day until you know what's going on or are certain you've ovulated, that way whatever happens with the egg, there is sperm present

Why don't you buy some cheapie OPK's, I use one step ovulation tests from amazon, think they were about £8 for 50, that way I could test as many times a day I wanted so I didn't miss my surge, because I am still sure CBFM missed my OV, got my peak the day after the positive opk and sure I ovulated the night before the peak too.

I have been feeling a little crampy, and have twinges, they are getting lower now though, started at ovulation around my ovaries and now feels like it's lowering down my Fallopian tubes, not sure what this is. And have had some creamy CM this morning x
