Is it really possible to stay in pre-baby jeans?!

The ad for the band I bought says that it can help women stay in pre-baby jeans for the duration of their pregnancy. Is this true? I feel like the jeans with the band are getting really snug and I haven't gained much weight so I'm trying to see if I need to budget for maternity pants now. I'm 14 weeks and I thought maybe it's because of where my uterus is positioned now. If the uterus grows and goes a little higher will the pre-baby jeans with the band start to fit again?

I say absolutely not, but I show early and a lot since I'm so short. Lots of people are taller than me and carry differently, or have stronger ab muscles, or both, and who don't get nearly as large or carry higher.

Not me though. Even my half-bump maternity jeans are feeling snug in the butt and thighs.

I knew a woman that did, she didn't even use a band and just wore low rise jeans all the way though. I don't think that is common at all though. The other day I split a pair of leggings...that is right stretchy leggings getting into the car so I am going to have to say generally speaking no lol

I knew a girl at work who did it, and she was about 5'6 and of medium build. She just did not gain any weight. By the time she was 9 months pregnant she barely looked 3. But I think she was an exception.

I initially gained about 10 lbs. :( The last time I was weighed was at 12 weeks, I went in yesterday (16 weeks in a few days) and I have lost weight. My first pregnancy I did not gain apound until I was a good 7 months along. Oh, to have the metabolism of a 20 year old again.:haha:

I can't even fit into my spandex... but I gain a lot of weight in my butt / thighs during this pregnancy and my last. Everyone gains weight in different ways. For you it may or may not all go to your belly^breasts but for myself it's all lower half.

Young women often do it. The girls I know who got pregnant in their teens did it. Even my mom at 20. Certainly not possible for me. Lol!

I'm still wearing most of my jeans, one pair I need to wear the belly band with but they are super super skinny jeans lol. It really just depends on where your weight gain hits you! My sister also wore hers all through her last two pregnancies, but my other sister hated wearing pants so she just wore leggings when she started showing :) But yeah, if you gain weight on your thighs/butt/middle area, then it obviously won't be feasible.
I guess I've been lucky so far, I hope to wear mine all the way through!

I wore mine until 23 weeks and then was able to get to a maternity store. I got to the point where pre-maternity jeans would not zip and the bands were annoying. They worked great from 7 weeks- 23 weeks though.

I only gained 12lbs total and was out of my jeans early on. I'm 5'8 and weighed just over 120lbs. They were extremely uncomfortable before my bump was even noticeable.

my pre pregnancy jeans still fit (the really low rise ones) but they're not comfy.

My prepregnancy jeans (some of them) still fit with the band but they are uncomfortable and I struggle with the band staying in place. I gave up on it a while ago! Lol but no way no how can I get them buttoned! With DD I couldn't even get any of them pulled up past 14 weeks. Some women do it though! Or others, like my lovely step sister, will go out and buy jeans in a bigger size and then say that they are there prepregnancy jeans just to hear people go "omg" and blah blah... Lol

I've never had to buy maternity pants, and wore my pre-baby jeans during each pregnancy. I did have to leave the button undone though. :haha: I just bought a pair of size 1-2 jeans because I know I'll still be able to wear them with the band through out my pregnancy.

No chance for me! He was so low at the beginning and I was so bloated it just wasn't comfortable. I started wearing maternity about 12 weeks I think... and a sports bra. Cos I'm sexy ;)

I stayed in my size 14s, then after birth I was bad in twelves. I'm one of the lucky ones.

My thighs and butt get bigger so nope! I could probably get by with my regular jeans until the end of second tri but they're so uncomfortable I've pretty much given then up as of the past week. They fit in the morning but by the evening or even the afternoon, no way can I do them up. I find belly bands don't stay in place so I don't use them.

Ugh, I just wouldn't try! You'd be so uncomfortable. Last time round I got some awesome maternity jeans that looked just as trendy as my regular jeans, only made for a belly. :)

Lol I can totally identify with the sexy sports bra bit because that is what I have been wearing too. I wore an actual bra to go to dinner at my Aunt's house for Christmas...it felt like I had a torture device strapped to my chest all night...it was awful.

I was gonna by some bump bands but after reading through this I think I'll go with the safer option of maternity jeans! I have already given up trying to fit in my skinnys :haha:

Last time I was wearing size 8 skinny jeans to my 20 week scan, but ouch! I think I got rid of them after OH pointed out that I had a massive red line on my tummy. I do plan on wearing normal trousers with a bump band to cover the fastening this time though. I only want to have to buy one pair of maternity work trousers so everything else is just going to have to work!

I wore my usual jeans all way through but once I tried maternity and swalled my pride I realised they actually looked better!
