Im really confused! Breastmilk composition changes as your baby gets older to suit their needs. But considering I stopped breastfeeding and then restarted again later on, how does my hody know what sort of milk to make!?? Will it still have the right nutritional value for a 4 month old if I have only been lactating again for around 2 months?

Just curioua really! Maybe this is why my boy isnt satisfied with the usual 3-4oz expressed milk that the average bf baby is meant to have....

I think your body takes a while to stop lactating so although your supply may have decreased it wont have completely disappeared. Im not certain but I would guess that your body is producing milk about right for lo age.

I've read that their saliva coming in contact with your nipples is one way your body "knows." If that's the case, then your milk would be fine. But I don't know the research to back that up.
