Is there a doll that says "daddy" instead of "mommy?"

:D! Thank you! I'm in the US too. I'm giving my son a simple doll this Christmas that does not talk, but if he continues to like dolls as he gets older, I want to encourage the interest and it would be great to be able to do that with a doll that doesn't call him "mommy."

I would just get one that does not talk xx

Well, my daughter has dolls that talk. I want a doll that challenges the stereotype that caring for children is a strictly female occupation and the idea that dolls are for girls. Having only dolls that say "mommy" reinforces gender stereotypes.

We have one that says mama, dada, baba, giggles and cries but bought it so many years ago I couldn't even guess where it was from. Just bought a 'giggling George' doll for my youngest son for Christmas. All that ones does is giggle, I struggled to find one that wasn't £35+ that did more than giggle. Bit much for a stocking filler for a 12 month old lol!

Haha, yeah, probably not worth it at 12 months. 3 was a good age for my daughter's first talking doll. At 4, she bought another one with her birthday money. My son will be 2 in March. If he's still into dolls in a year, I'll get him one of those Magic Baby dolls that says dada for Christmas.

I'm in Canada. My daughter has one that says mama, dada and papa and some other things too. When I get home I'll see if it has a name on it. She got it about 6 Months ago.
I wish I could find my daughter a doll that said all those things but looked Asian. All the talking dolls are white or black.

My daughter has two talking dolls and yes, one is white and the other is black. More diversity is definitely needed.

I totally noticed that about the lack of Asian dolls. We have one black doll and one white doll because that's all we could find! Also, very few red-headed dolls

That's true! Violet recently bought herself a baby alive doll with her birthday money. The choices were blond, brunette, or black.
