Is this a safety issue?

So my two week old DD won't go in her crib but will often settle in her Moses basket which we've got downstairs. In order to get sleep, we've been moving the Moses basket plus stand up and down stairs every day which my OH is finding a pain. He wants to put the Moses basket in the crib itself. Does anyone know if there any safety issues with doing this?

I had my little one in the Moses basket in the crib to aid transition but not until he was around 12 weeks, just because he was comfortable in the Moses basket and wanted to introduce new surroundings in stages, I was advised this on this forum so still assuming there was no problem lol (and still had the basket attached to a monitor). There wasn't any safety issues in doing this as far as I am aware but as I say my baby was older than your ps and the monitor was still attached. At 2 weeks old though your baby is still very young and will probably want to settle around you, my baby didn't even like the Moses basket at that age so there was no chance of her being in another room that I wasn't in!! We persevered with it and we also had a Moses stand upstairs and downstairs to reduce the carrying could you maybe do that?x

The only thing that I could think of is possibly overheating. Not sure if it would even be a problem but if you're worried you could just take the mattress out of the cot and put the Moses basket onto the frame. Then air would circulate under the basket and it will be no different to a stand

We've been doing this for 3 months. Bought a crib this time for our bedroom as not big enough for cot bed and was a faff last time moving moses basket and stand up and downstairs and thought we would get away with it but she hated the crib and wouldn't settle in it. So typical, we're back to moving a moses basket up and down stairs again lol. I haven't found any issues with it, certainly not with heating or anything. I guess as long as the base is stable it should be fine. I'm hoping our daughter will transition to the crib soon as she's getting too big for her basket.

Though we didn't do it, I can't really see why it would be a safety issue to have the moses basket in the crib. The only safety issue really is if you are putting your LO to sleep in the crib upstairs when you are downstairs. I think technically the recommendation is to keep them to sleep with you until 6 months, though I'm not sure most people do it that long. But definitely at only 2 weeks old, our daughter was with us 24 hours a day and we didn't put her upstairs to sleep alone without us. She slept on our chests or in a wrap as long as we were awake and we took her upstairs with us when we went to bed. We did that until she was 4 months and then we started to put her to sleep upstairs without us with a monitor on. I think that maybe would be the only safety issue that would come up there for me.

No there are no safety risks with that Hun. Just the same as it being on te stand really. Xxx

I did that with dd when she was an infant but I barely used the Moses basket anyway. I think it's fine.
