Is this just her age or because I'm working?

I have only been back at work two weeks and my 10 month old daughter has been going to nursery. I'm only part time so she only goes for 2 and a half days.
She seems to have settled ok apart from not sleeping as much as usual (which I posted a different thread about) but she's becoming really difficult at home and I wondered if it's just her age or could it be because I'm leaving her?
She's always been really happy go lucky but she's started throwing full on tantrums when she can't get her own way, for example when I move her away from the TV cabinet or she wants to get to my cup of tea but can't reach it. I try to distract her with other things but she just screams and screams.
We've had a particularly bad day today and it's made worse by the fact my DH just can't handle it so I've had him stressing at me too (not to mention the fact this won't help DD to be calm) :-(
I thought that tantrums didn't come until later so I'm worried it's all happening directly or indirectly because I'm back at work. If its not because I'm leaving her is it because she isn't getting enough attention at nursery? Or because she see's the older children do it? Even because she's just over tired on her first day off?
Perhaps I'm way off the mark and it's nothing to do with nursery but it's seems strange that she's started doing this exactly when she started nursery.
It might seem worse than it is because of DH's mood but any thoughts?

Its more than likely that she's picked it up from the older children at nursery hun. My son was the samme its unreal the things they pickkup, they only have to see them do it once n they start to do it themselves

I'd reckon its most likely her age - tantrums and getting cross when they can't have their own way starts way before the age of 2 for lots of toddlers. Tom started kicking off about things not going his way from about 10 or 11 months - long before I expected it to happen.

It might be that seeing older kids getting angry has made her do it a bit earlier than she would have on her own but its not unusual for it to start happening around her age.

Thanks for replying. I was just expecting it to happen when she was closer to 2 but it's good to know we're not the only ones

Dd started nursery two weeks ago & about a week before that she started throwing tantrums if she can't teach things she wants or have her own way. I'd say it's probably an age thing. We've had some tantrums before, but never so obviously because she's not allowed to do/have something.

:flower:

My son is 11 months and for the last month or two, he has started throwing little baby tantrums if things don't go his way. Ahhhh the fun to come lol
