Is this normal?

I miscarried my baby yesterday finally after waiting 4 wks. Anyway, I bled heavy and had loads of huge clots and finally around tea time last night the bleeding slowed and the cramps wore of a little. This morning however the cramps came back, like contractions. I'm getting pains every few minutes and its really hurting. Is this normal after the baby has come out? Or does it sound like something is still in there? Bleeding is still slow but I have occasional gushes and small clots.

Your body needs to get rid of all the tissue and lining that was in there...it sounds normal though.

It's normal! Your body just didn't get it all out the first round. Very sorry for your loss

Sounds like there is just some more stuff your body needs to get out. Depending on how far along you were, your uterus may be contracting back down to size, too.

If you're worried, you can always call your doctor and ask the nurse or doctor on duty when to worry. They'll probably say something like if you're soaking a pad ever 15 minutes or running a fever to go to the emergency room.

I'm so sorry you're going through this, but glad you don't have to wait any longer. 4 weeks is a long time. It really wears you down. I hope that everything goes naturally and without incident. I hope you feel better soon, though I know the emotional healing will take longer than the physical healing.
