So I have a 1-month-old baby, the car seat did not come with a neck support pillow so I bought one, the pic shows what it looks like, I don't know if it seems safe opinions, please?

It just doesn't look right to me not sure if I am just being paranoid as it's been a while since I had a baby before now (5 years to be exact)

Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure about the safety of this as I've never seen one before, but I'm not sure why it would be needed. If the car seat is installed correctly at the appropriate angle so the baby is reclined and not at risk of her head flopping forward then she wouldn't need a neck support pillow.

What type of car seat do you have? We have a joie every stage and dd has been fine in that since birth, it has extra cushioning but no real neck support. We've not used a carry seat but as pp said it shouldn't really be an issue if the seat is at the correct angle

Hi thanks guys, she just keeps flopping to the side and looks very uncomfortable, decided to bin the thing it didn't look right

You could try a rolled up receiving blanket on the sides of the head to keep them from flopping to the side.

I think it's advised not to use anything that didn't come with the seat.

We have Joie Every Stages too! Been great for both of ours, despite lack of specialised head support. :)

You can buy the ones that go around their head as opposed to around their necks . We have a Maxi Cosi and it came with one. I’ve never seen the ones you posted as standard with a car seat .

Just seen your updated post!

This is what our car seat is like . Maybe this type of support would work for your little one too. This is not my picture just one I took from a google

Ours came with a triangular pillow insert the goes under the bum of the baby. This creates a "flatter" surface to lie on which should stop the head flopping dangerously

It is not safe an usually illegal depending on your country, to add aftermarket items that interfere with a car seat and how it is used etc.

You can roll up two muslin blankets or similar, to godown each side if baby. They must go down babies body as well as next to their head to be safe.

Head flopping to the side is generally fine.
