Does anyone else shop around and even buy baby things before they are pregnant, or like us in wtt, before they are even ttc?

Do it as I know these things will last as long as it takes to have a baby and im spreading the cost at the same time. Anyone else or am I just obsessed lol!

I'd love to but my DH would go mad so i havnt...but i window shop (and e-window shop) all the time

Me. I've bought (and mostly gotten for free) most things already. It helps me with WTT. I don't see anything wrong with it as I'll still have other big stuff (carseat, cot etc) to buy when I'm PG.

Only yesterday I bought a baby vest. I'm not even close to TTC but it was a Ramones baby vest and way too amazing to pass up! I think up until the time I'm actually TTC I may buy a few things which are incredible bargains or just too cute/unique to pass up but I won't be going over the top. If it doesn't end up happening then I can always gift what I have to friends when they have their LOs

Oh Wow! Were did you find this if you don't mind me asking? Been looking for a friend but all the ones online are so expensive :(

I never bought anything while WTT the first time but I did look online and pick things out that I thought I might want to buy.

Meeeee haha I do! I have plenty still from my daughter who is nearly two but I've bought lots when the sales have been on! I've also got things off freecycle such as a free swing breast pump with all brand new accessories, brand new maternity tops, tots bots washable nappies etc! It is spreading the cost before my oh possibly goes back to university!

I'm also hopefully starting a job at the end of next month so will use some of that to buy vouchers for the likes off next so that when we find out what we are having I already have like a little pot of money to spend on gender specific clothes as I know I couldn't just keep it in a bank account! Also want to buy a voucher to a 3d ultrasound place so I can get an early sexing scan like last time and a few other bits!

My OH would also go mad at me and think Im crazy for buying anything for baby, plus I wanna save this for when Im pregnant.

Iv bought a few things for my future baby. When i see deals i grab it, its good to spread costs and not buy all at once xx

I've got a drawerful of baby clothes i've picked up in the sales - hard to resist a bargain! I cant bring myself to buy anything more expensive/big though, just in case it never happens, or it takes ages for us to conceive and seeing it in the house depresses me! xx

My OH wouldn't like me buying things before i'm pregnant.

I do kind of want to buy things now but im also excited for buying all the baby things when i have a bump, i use pinterest to save stuff i've seen that i love.

Plus i think if i had already brought most stuff now, when i'm pregnant i will still be looking at all the clothes etc & probably double everything & end up with way to much stuff - i'm drawn to newborn sizes :haha:

Asda - £4! They also had Rolling Stones, The Jam, and Guns N Roses ones. You can order them online too.

Just given in and ordered them all!

Thanks ladies. It was something I was thinking of as whilst we're wtt we're on little money having just put down a massive deposit :( and I wanted to spread the cost but though OH might be a bit freaked out lol!
Turns out he's fine with it and thinks it's a good idea with our current situation. Hopefully by the time we ttc our money situation will be back on track :)

Guilty!

I have a few clothes that I couldn't resist, mainly little dresses as I'm so sure I'm going to have a girl first. I do have a few baseball-related little boys things, too though. That's as far as I've gone for purchasing, though it's mainly because I don't have the space to store more!

I look at pretty much baby everything - strollers, car seats, cribs, even cloth diapers! I don't know for sure what ones I'll want yet, but I have an idea on what I want. I'm going to be practical and get a gender neutral stroller though, when the time comes. I want one of those really cute girly ones if I have a girl, but I don't want to do that to my poor son when he comes along. I'll probably go with a light blue or a green. Still gotta have color in there! :)

My baby box is dangerously close to overflowing lol. At this moment have a few things that need to get added to it but I am not so sure they will fit . We are going to take the box out this weekend and organize it and hope for the best :) have bought a few big things that definitely don't fit like a breast pump (but it was an awesome deal!). I too see it as spacing out the spending. Currently living with roommates and saving some money on living costs so if I can afford it now, why not?

I have bought a couple of neutral things (cloth diaper, breast pump, feeding pillow) when I made a barter deal with my DH (which I didn't think he was going to accept). Our original plan was to wait until we have a house to buy things. I probably won't buy anything else until then, as we just don't have the room. As is we had to re-arrange the hope chest to fit the feeding pillow in :)

Only dd's baby stuff, though I'm always tempted especially by baby boys clothes as they're a bit of a novelty since I have a girl! I'd rather save the money in my isa for when I'm actually pregnant/have a baby again rather than buy stuff now though, there's always something new and cute out there :)
