Mine tries hard to get things I will like but he does get it wrong. And even when I show him the exact thing he has been known to get the wrong one because he thinks his is better. :nope: :haha:

I sound really ungrateful but he does make a lot of mistakes.

Digital radio - it took me a year to chose one I really liked and showed him the exact one I wanted when I decided, based partly on the way it looked like an old-fashioned radio. He bought a different one that looks really modern and doesn't go with the look I wanted.

Gold watch and necklace that I can't wear because I feel like Mr T.

An I-pod I told him I didn't want and wouldn't use (I'm half deaf and in sole charge of a baby, earphones and me are not compatable). ETA - I told him BEFORE he bought it.

Three hamsters in a big glass tank, just because Next Door had some and I said they were cute. Didn't mean I wanted a giant glass coffin filled with rodents in my living room for the next three years.

So is it just my DH or does anyone else get presents like this too?

no my OH is actually an amazing pressie buyer .. sorry just train him up :p x

Aww my OH isn't too bad when He buys stuff for me or the kids but for anyone else he is hopeless
x

my oh is fab he just buys everything he thinks ill like x

When I never told Darren what I wanted for one of my birthdays he never got me anything  he said he didn't want to get me something I didn't like.:dohh:

However now I email him a list and he prints it out. Me & my mum where getting our eyebrows done in Debenhams and heard these woman cooing and looked over and they where saying how cute Darren was. He has printed out a little map thing of where each shop was and which item to get from where  I walked over and he was tryna hide his shopping bags. I was like urm, you do know it was me who told you what to get, I know whats in each bag haha

Mine is useless so I have to drop heavy and specific hints as to what I want. Im a fussy bugger though so most people find it hard to get me something.

My OH doesnt even bother now! (we have only been together 3 and a half years)

Insted of giving me cash - as he wont listen to ideas, he gives his mum £50 to buy me things. And she knows me less than he does.

Last year i got the most hiddeous jewllery in gold that i have never worn lol

:flower:

my ex was awful! he would but things because he thought 'this is something a girl would like' , not taking into consideration that i'm not even girly. this year i'm my own oh and i'm an excellent gift giver

I'm really lucky coz my oh is fab at buying pressies - he buys me things that i didn't even know i wanted but can't live without once i have them!! He's also really good at buying things for all his family as well which makes my life easier lol!

x

My dh is quite good when we're not poor. He bought me a pair of fantastic shoes a few years ago, that id pointed out to him in September but could never afford.

My ex on the other hand was shite! He bought me a stunt kite one year, spent £200 on it too the muppet!
