I know someone has also posted regarding itching due to obstetric cholestasis however I have had 2 tests already and both have come back negative yet the itch is literally driving me to despair :grr:

I'm not too bad during the day, distraction I think but at night I just feel it's not worth going to bed as I'm scratching the whole of my upper body until it bleeds. I'm covered in small scratches and am now feeling it's such a struggle the next day surviving on a couple hours sleep when I have a toddler, who's a little star but I feel I'm being a crap grumpy mum to her

Ive bern given creams, antihistamines, I've tried using no creams but nothing helps. I'm really worried they're going to talk me into induction if I don't get any sleep/rest which I'd really prefer not to have to go through. What's worse is I think people think it's really bloody trivial, that's it's just a little itch :grr:

Any advice or miracle cures :haha: would be gratefully received!

Not sure if you saw my reply on the other post but check out itchymoms.com

Ah thanks for that.

How funny is it that there's a website dedicated to itching in pregnancy :dohh: at least I know we're not alone even if we are miserable!

Im miserable, had this since about 25 weeks, so knackerred i could sleep where i stand.
Exactly the same, dont notice it as im so busy during the daya dn as soon as i sit down at night its hell
:(

im itching no end on my stomach at night. I have to keep my belly covered with clothes because as soon as it touches the bed sheets im itching like crazy

Has anyone else been tested and cone bsvk negative for obstetric cholestasis but still itching?

It's just soooo awful, I have rang the docs again today and will probably get someone really unsympathetic who tells me just to get on with it :dohh:

When I was pregnant with my little boy I had awful itching on my tummy. It was so bad I couldn't sleep, I would just claw at it all night. I spoke to the doctors and they told me to put baking soda in a bath. But to be honest that didn't really help me for more than 20 mins :nope:

What I did find to help was a cold, damp towel which I just lay over my itchy patch. And then as soon as he was born it just disapeared :happydance:

I have the same problem and have tested negative twice for OC. I find taking one piriton before bed helps, I don't know if it stops me itching or just zonks me out but it helps!

I just had a 3rd test for OC cone back negative today and saw my consultant who gave me a huuuuuge tub of menthol aqueous cream and so far I have to say it seems VERY good

The test will of course be the night......
