I couldn't sleeP last night for itching everywhere!! Anyone else?

Iv'e had it for weeks now but I have the PUPPP rash.

Have you tried any remedies? I found calomine lotion really soothing. Put it on and either blow it a little or if you have a fan that's even better. If not, try 3 drops of tea tree oil in a bowl of water and use cotton wool to put it on where you are itchy.

Just try stay cool. :coolio:

mee too its realy worse at night i will try what raisin said

hi
i had this with harry find a really moisturising but mild body wash for when you shower it helps a lot and try not to get too hot hard i know but it makes it loads worse. mine was always bad at night too its annoying but soon as baby arrives it goes !
good luck with bubs x

ME! I had lumps all over my body like bites which is what I paid almost $200 for a dermatologist to diagnose it as. Then I thought PUPPPS, but my midwife said its not (even though in parts thats what it looks like) I had blood tests and she said there's nothing in those to suggest that what it is. So I was on tablets similar to what they give for PUPPPS and the lumps went but I still itch and I have tiny little scabs here and there still which bleed really easily and so at night when I scratch my pjs get blood all over them.
It's making me crazy I had nothing like this with my other kids. Midwife says it definitely seems pregnancy related like something with the hormone changes are causing it but its definitely not PUPPPS which I guess is a good thing but I thought I had found an answer for my problem which several doctors and a specialist hadn't been able to give me.

My PUPPP started with a severely itchy rash, like little insect bites all over, espcially on the bump and arms. After about 10 days the rash changed to more of a sunburn looking rash, all the bites sort of blending together. They didn't think I had PUPPP either until I saw the dermatologist. They thought it was scabies. :haha:

Hope you feel better soon. Nothing worse than itching. :hugs:

We must have the same drs! I was diagnosed with scabies in the very first place. I was treated for it twice as per the instructions and nothing changed. Finally they did a scraping of some new patches and it showed it was not that and never had been because that dr said if it was there would have been something left behind there to see what it was.
Mine joined together in like a flat red/dark rash around my breasts but that was the only place. The midwife said there would be some changes to my liver function and to whatever else they test in my blood if it was PUPPPS and all came up ok so I'm still puzzled. Anyway the medication they gave seemed to make my skin alot clearer although not completely gone and I've stopped it as of this week so I'll see of it comes back badly. I'm just taking an antihistamine now.
It is horrible, I can sympathise with what you've been going through! I haven't had the best pregnancy this time around I have to say.

If you are still itchy make sure your mw knows and gets you checked out for Obstetric colestasis. Check out the thread at the top of this part of the forum. It tells you about the condition. Itching in pregnancy is normal..but its best to get it checked out. x

I had the bile/liver functions blood tests last week which came back all ok so she had thought of that as well.

Are you being retested? It took me 5 weeks to convince the dr's to retest me after i felt like i was going unsane with the itch. I've been diagnoised with OC and now on medication which is helping. I also take piriton but the one that makes yoy drowsy so i can sleep at night. Pregnancy itch is never spmething that should make you irriatable, lack sleep or drive you nuts. Insist on being retested xxxx

i find that if i sleep commando the bedsheets make me itchy! esp my bump :(

They only did that test a few days ago so I dont think she would retest so soon.

From research i did you should be tested each week if the itch is still there. Had i know that at the time i would have said it sooner. Its best to be persistent xx

I'll ask her again this week but I've had it for about 2-3 months of the pregnancy so far and 3 blood tests along the way. The bile salts/liver was just tested a few days ago and was ok. When should it show up if it hasnt yet?
Does this condition produce hives? Or just itchy skin because I have hives which come back if I stop the antihistimine.

The other thing I don't have is itchy palms or soles of the feet which the mw said I would have to some degree. Mine is only on my back, around my breasts, sides of my belly and a small patch at the inside top of my thighs.

I have really bad itchiness also. I get it on feet and sometimes on the palms of my hands..my belly is really bad and it feels almost like bites on my stretch marks but i wasnt sure if that just irritation due to my swelling. I've had them for a bit now, but it seems like whenever i mention skin issues like this to my ob she says she wouldnt worry about it. I have an appt on Monday so I'm going to ask her to look and make sure she doesnt just blow it off. I was scared we had bed bugs or i had scabies or something..but if I did, my husband would have it too wouldn't he? i dk, i just hope i can find out what it is and it will go away!

Mine is everywhere. I started on my feet and legs so I thoughts I had restless legs but now it is everywhere including my palms. It is still mild itching and doesn't bother me in the day but keeps me awake at night.

My wee is bright yellow and has white cells in it too - so I think I also have a uti.

On top of that I feel like I am so tired I could pass out all the time.

Do you think it can wait until my mw on Monday?

Sorry you are still feeling poorly :hugs:

If it were me I think I would ring midwife or Triage today just for peace of mind if nothing else.

I think I'd call too the mw told me the itchy palms and feet were one of the main symptoms and considering you're having the other issue too I think I'd call just to check.

I found this bath lotion called Oilatum, you can also rub it on your skin when its wet and rinse it off.. not sure if its a physiological thing.. but if i wake up itching i wash my bump with it and it seems to ease it loads! :) xx

(think i got it from tesco)
