Why am I even bothering to try and sleep?
I feel so wide awake now - and hungry.

I've sleeping so well through this pregnancy, that is now up until about an hour ago :(

Oh yeah it just gets more difficult to sleep the further along you are. This pregnancy insomnia is just horrible. I try not to eat right before bed and also I try not to go to bed unless I'm really ready for sleep, that helps. They say if you toss and turn for too long it just gets even more difficult to fall asleep.

Ye I had a few nights like that... now Im so exhausted after work I go to sleep alright... maybe have a warm glass of milk or somethin :)

I think if it happens again ill just get up and get something to eat. Maybe watch some TV and tire myself out again

I'm the same, the pass 3 nights I just wake and can't get back off,so annoying

In the last 2 months I've slept only 4 nights through the night. I normally just wake up an absurd number of times through out and go back to sleep, bu the nights I toss and turn and can't fall back asleep, I only give it a little bit of time. If I don't fall back asleep wihin like idk 45 minutes, I'll either try sleeping on the couch or in the guest room which usually gets me back to sleep quicker than if i were to stay in bed tossing and turning.

Yeah I did think about going downstairs on the sofa with a blanket and watch some tv, that way if I did fall asleep again, I would at least have a blanket.

Hiya-I've been having this on and off almost since I got my BFP-want to sleep all afternoon, get to sleep easy at night, then I'm awake at a stupid time for a few hours.

Know what you mean about being hungry too-I can't lie just waiting to get back to sleep because I'm so ravenous!

I've found that getting up and having a very small bowl of cereal (think the milk helps), then going back to bed and putting on Radio 4 on my headphones seems to work! They have the overnight show that's just talking, which seems to put me to sleep quickly when I try to concentrate on what they are talking about!

Never let me down so far, and I am beginning to understand the shipping forecast....

:haha: do you NEED to understand the shipping forecast?! :haha:

yeah, I sat up for a while and read through facebook etc on my phone - glared at fiance cos he was asleep - then tried to settle back down again when I felt baby kicking, keeping mummy company :) i eventually got back to sleep.

I don't think the dog's snoring helped.

Haha, no, I don't - but you never know when it might come in handy!

And avoid the phone-the light tricks your mind into thinking its daylight... Stupid phones...:growlmad:

I actually think it did the opposite, reading things seems to have tired my eyes out

I get stretches of sleeping like crap. Started at about week 11. This past week I had 5 days I didn't sleep much I believe. The past two days I've finally slept better. It just comes and goes but sadly I've been use to this anyway before pregnancy. If my body doesn't want to sleep it isn't going to. I just lay in bed in the nice warm bed with my blanket and sleeping pups and DH but he isn't fun to play with his fur.

I've woken between 3/4am every night for weeks! I go for a wee-then sometimes I can go straight back to sleep other times im lying there for at least an hour...then the hunger kicks in and I usually have some cereal and milk like Vegas said then normally can sleep ok after! I do now lie there feeling baby kicking too-beautiful company :) And if he's not kicking after being awake for a while I start actively trying to feel for him by changing positions etc...naughty mummy-I should just be concentrating on getting back to sleep but I HAVE to check he's ok first!!

I've been bringing a book to bed every night so if I wake up I can read until I fall back asleep. My husband doesn't mind the lamp on while he sleeps, thankfully :)

I think I will try that.

Me too! I am currently reading Lord of the Rings and my husband is reading Harry Potter :D

Random, but I saw some onesies on etsy that were Harry Potter themed...my favorite says "Accio Milk" :haha:

Etsy is a site where you can buy/sell handmade stuff, they have some really awesome things!

Here is an example: https://www.etsy.com/listing/117558239/cute-harry-potter-i-speak-parsel-tongue?ref=cat_gallery_6 :haha:
