It's nearly time to ditch the aspirin... I don't think I can do it!

I have been signed off from my consultant as of 32 weeks. I've been told to continue taking 150mg of aspirin until 37-38 weeks.

I'm scared if I stop something is going to happen to my baby and I will never forgive myself :(

At my last appointment I asked my consultant what taking it until 38 weeks instead of 32 weeks could do and she said there's a new study to say taking 75mg right up until birth has no affect at all. So now I want to just cut down to 75mg at 38 weeks and not stop completely.

Is there proof that stopping at 37-38 weeks will mean the baby will be fine? There's no chance anything could go wrong?

I have a blood clotting disorder btw which caused my miscarriages.

Hi, I honestly thought that you need to stay on the aspirin until birth. I too have a blood clotting disorder and am on low dose aspirin and clexane injections until delivery. Im no expert though.
I hope more people reply with advice

I take 75mg aspirin daily and been advised I will continue with aspirin and won't come off it

I also inject twice daily with dalparin to thin my blood but these injections will stop around 30 weeks x

i cant answer your question but i know how you feel...im too scared to stop my asprin after being told too ive been told it does no harm so ill be still taking it, id rather continue then risk anything weither...i spose if you have been told that 75mg does no harm just take that, that way it dont affect you or baby and you wont need to worry.
