IUI after ttc 3 nearly years?

Hi Ladies
I have not been on the forum for over a year, but here is my background.
Me and DH (both mid twenties) TTC around 33 months. Hormone tests indictaed annovulatory cycles, but not every month. Hubbys sperm normal. HSG completed- no blockages, although radiologist struggled to insert catheter through cervix (took 4 attempts, ouch!)
6 months clomid from Feb 11- May 11. Blood tests indicated clomid worked well at inducing ovulation. No success

Thats us in a nutshell.
I've now been offered 3 courses of IUI, with the option of one IVF if this fails. We have been told we can go straight for IVF if we want, but would only get one shot at this.

Has anyone else tried IUI after 3 years or more TTC and had success? I'm aware it's usually used most successfully for male factor issues, which isn't the case for us.

Any advice/experience would be greatly appreciated.

Well, we didn't have exactly the same issues, but. . . .

We were in our mid twenties. Unexplained infertility not male factor. TTC for only 19 months, not nearly as long as 3 years.

It took 4 cycles of IUI, but it finally worked.

Thanks for your reply, it's really good to know IUI has worked for you. How long did you have to wait in between the cycles?

I did back to back cycles. No waiting.

This time, I choose to put myself on hold one month between cycles.
