IUI Feb anyone?

Hi anyone doing IUI similar to me at the mo?

I'm CD2 today and starting clomid tonight (CD2-6 50mg).
I have a Day5 scan and also start menapur on Day5 (also inject it on days 9 and 11).
I have scan on day 11 and they tell me then when to take the trigger shot.
IUI should be Day13 (this is a Friday so it will be that day unless I need longer for follicles to grow and then it would be CD16 Monday - my clinic don't do weekends)

My left tube is blocked so hoping to get good follies on my right!
This is my 1st IUI. I have done 1 round of IVF (NHS) and 1 round of ICSI (private) both BFN. Doing 3 rounds of IUI free on the NHS while we are deciding which clinic to use for our next IVF and whether to have level2 immune tests done.

I'll be having my 2nd IUI on Feb 8th... if I ovulate as I usually do on CD14...

hi there,

I started my 1st IUI cycle on 1/21. I started taking 100mg Clomid on CD2-CD7. On CD9 I did a Follistim injection. Today is CD12 and I just had my ultrasound and blood test and my estradiol level is only at about 736, and my follicles were at about 12mm.

My RE said to come back on CD14 for another ultrasound and bloodwork. Hopefully, everything will be at the right levels by then so I can do my trigger shot that night.

I am really nervous, but really excited all at the same time.

Keeping my FX'd for everyone and sending everyone lots of !!!

I started this cycle on 1/17. Since I have a long medication plan this month I haven't O'd yet. I go in for my scan tomorrow and if all goes well I am hoping to trigger tomorrow night have my 2nd IUI Friday morning.

I had my IUI with injectables on the 28th January and Im currently in my 2ww! Im not really having any unusual symptoms or anything but perhaps its just too early to know.

Went for day11 scan today and I have 4 follicles. I have to go back tomorrow for another scan and to see how much they have grown, at the moment only 1 might be ready. Will know tomorrow whether I will have iui on Friday. I'm wondering about the trigger shot now - my scan isn't until 3pm and I have to take the hcg with me and do it at the clinic if we afre going ahead. Aren't I supposed to OV about 40hours after the trigger but will have iui only 24 hours or less after trigger - does it matter?

Loads of for all you other ladies going through this!

Hi everyone, can I join you? I am on my second cycle of clomid and IUI as well! Just had the first IUI this morning - I have a really good follie on the right and three on the left, but my left tube is blocked at the moment so we're just keeping our fingers crossed for the right side. We BD'd yesterday afternoon, IUI today and tomorrow, and I'm planning on jumping DH one last time the day after that - gotta make sure we get that egg!
Hope everyone is doing well with their IUI plans, I am very excited this time around and hopeful things will go well
Oh Tansey I think they are going to do the trigger and then the IUI 24 hours later so the sperm will be there in the tube ready and waiting when the egg pops out at the 40 hour mark. Then they get it again one day later. FX for you and everyone on here!

I had my trigger shot about 28 hours before iui but that seems to be the normal thing to do so I guess it's ok. I did think that myself, aparently you ovulate anywhere between 30-40 hours after trigger! I'm guessing that the sperm can live at least another 24 hours once injected.
Don't worry about it much I'm sure they wouldn't do it if it was wrong.
The part your at is very exciting because your follicles change everyday!
I wish you every bit of baby dust, take care and pretened like your just going for a check up. (helped me not to stress)

Hi Ladies,

i just got back from my 2nd ultrasound to check the size of the follies and there are approximately 3 at about 20mm, 21mm, and 22mm. Hopefully trigger tonight and then IUI tomorrow and saturday.

One follie is ready (22.5mm) so IUI tomorrow
2 others @15mm and 16mm so you never know they may catch up in time.

In America do you get IUI twice in a cycle? Here in the UK you get one insemination.

Hi there Tansey,

I am not sure if all fertility specialists do 2 IUI's, but the group that I go to says that is normal protocol.

On a good note I just got the go ahead to do my trigger shot tonight and we are doing IUI in the morning and saturday morning.

I am so excited!!

I'm near Philadelphia and we get two IUI's in a cycle as well. Maybe that's how they tend to do it in the USA.

I'm in the US and they only ever do one for me. I'm sure they would do a second if I asked but I've never asked to.

Had my iui this morning! From scan on wednesday had 1 big follicle and 1 slightly smaller so hoping that second one grew enough in time...

Unfortunately DH's SA showed morphology of only 2%, so that was a bit disappointing (it's usually around 4%), but dr went ahead anyway.

I think 1 or 2 iuis depends on the preference of your fs. My first fs did 2, but my current fs only does one.

Had my iui today - did not like it, very uncomfortable BUT obviously would do it again in a heartbeat for a BFP!
I have to go for a blood test next week to check I OV'D.

AF arrived 2nd Feb and started clomid on the 3rd, first monitoring scan set for 10th feb.

Little bit about me:

1st cycle of IVF Feb 2010
2nd cycle FET December 2010
Both cycles ended up being cancelled before ET.

1st cycle of IUI as I had a very rough IVF cycle and i'm hoping the less invasive option may work so giving it a go.

Anyone experienced any side effects with clomid?? I'm driving myself nuts with worrying about the side effects! Took my first tablet last night and then a few hours later started to feel a little on edge and then hardly slept at all. Took my second tablet tonight and sat down to watch TV then the right side of my bum and under my thigh went numb and had a little tinging in my right arm. The feeling came back as soon as I got up (just had a bit of pins and needles feeling) but i keep thinking my leg/ arms feels funny now. Am I being paranoid???? I can sometimes get a numb ass if i'm sat funny on the sofa and occasionally I do get some tingling in my arm. I really wish the FS hadn't mentioned the side effects!

hi Chesca,

I did the same thing the first time I took Clomid. So, I started taking it right before I go to bed that way if there was any side effects, I would not notice them while I was sleeping. Maybe that will help with the anxiety of the meds.
