Daisy is an awesome sleeper at night and goes from around 12am to 6am, but through the day she is really clingy.
I know I spoiled her while she had the cold, thinking that holding her upright would stop her little nose getting blocked and it did, but now she constantly wants held, which I would love to do, but it's now getting me down because I feel like all I do is sit around with her all day and I'm not getting anything done :dohh:
As soon as OH comes in I hand her to him and run around doing all the housework that should have been done through the day.

Has anyone got any ideas how to wean her off me?!! She falls alseep on me and as soon as she does I put her in her bed but within 5 mins she is awake again crying to be lifted.
She has a cot mobile that keeps her amused for about 5 minutes then she cries and her vibrating chair, well she really hates that!

My MIL tells me to leave her crying because she will soon learn, but I hate doing that, she gets really upset

Help! Anyone!

How about wearing her in a baby carrier? Or if she's good at holding her head up, you could get a Bumbo and take her with you that way, she could watch you.

:hugs:

have you thought about getting a baby carrier and wearing her? It would free up your hands and you can get work done while carrying her around with you. but if you're trying to get her used to not being carried all the time, i suppose this wouldnt do you any good...

Great minds think alike and all that!! I was just browsing through Kiddicare looking at baby carriers!!
I do need to find a long term solution to it though, but I'm thinking that it will make me feel better if I can at least get some housework done! (and Mylene Klass said carrying her LO around in a carrier helped her lose all her baby weight! So if it's good enough for her!!!)

Shes way to young to cio as your mil said, Im sorry but at 1 month old there is no way she'd understand whats going on. I would say a baby carrier

My LO had colic and was uncomfortable lying down so I held him a lot and carried him around in a sling. i actually found he weaned himself off me once he was 2 months plus and now even if I want to I can't cuddle him to sleep which I actually miss.

What I'm trying to say is that NO, you haven't turned your LO into a clingy baby, it can definitely be reversed possibly without you even trying. Once your LO is older and more interested in toys, it will be a lot easier to leave her playing by herself while you get housework done.

The baby carrier would do the trick! :)

Lola-Rose also really likes to be held or near me,but I place her in the bouncer chair (not the vibrating one) and keep her close to me so I can still do some chores and she's near me.
