Ive just found out I'm 5ish months pregnant

I have been getting my periods rather light the past 5-6 months but thought nothing of it. Im a bigger girl and put on 10lbs but thought it was because ive been eating rather awfully ( I can only stomach certain foods it seems, the past 3 days alone I can only hold down Campbells tomato soup) and my soon to be MIL said I looked a little bloated last week. I dont know why it never clicked til today, I woke up and felt soft pings in my tummy dismissed it as gas, but then I kept feeling it. I decided to take a pregnancy test and just took one about 2 hours ago, it came back positive. Only issue is my fiance has been in Netherlands since August 27 finishing his studies ( Which is the last day we had sex, and my period in august was on the 13th, so I assume I was ovulating on the 27th) I have not had sex with anyone else. I have been taking prenatals since early June as we decided to start trying for a baby and I continued to take them after he left on his trip as I loved how soft and shiny my hair got (my doctor approved)

I have to set up an appointment with my doc, so he can refer me to an OB (how my insurance works) if I calculated it correctly Im about 5 months. Has this happened to anyone? I mean I think I was blind but my periods weren't so light that it was odd, it still felt like a period. Any advice, experience, anything would help, Im so shocked and I know my Fiance will be once I tell him (he comes back in 3 days I plan on waiting til then to reveal it). Im so excited and terrified at the same time

I took about 8 tests and they are all positive, I thought I should note that it wasnt just one. 3 digitals, 4 pink dye, and 1 blue dye test.

Wow! Sorry got no advice but it blows my mind you got to 5 months, it's the same as me and it's been the weirdest 5 months ever! Massive congrats, I'm excited for you to tell oh I'm sure he'll be over the moon! Only 5ish months to go!!! Xx

Thank you! I am still so shocked, but eager and excited Ive just made a docs appt for Monday (soonest he could get me in for a general check up and referral). Im thinking about inviting my mother over for dinner tonight along with his, and reveal it to them. I know they will be just as excited!

Oh wow how exciting! That happened to my cousin, she went in after she got a positive pregnancy test and got a scan to find out how far, it ended up being her anatomy scan!

You got to skip all the annoying early pregnancy stuff and skip right to the feeling movement lucky...

Thank you guys! If I did it correctly my estimated due date is May 20th, (by using my LMP -my last normal one haha- which was Aug 13th) I am so shocked! Luckily I havent done to much bad stuff (except maybe not the best diet), as I havent drank at all, dont smoke, and havent taken any meds (well aside from Tums and prenatals) I just pray everythings alright with the baby and I, I will keep you all updated! (Hoping for a Girl!!)

Agh !!!! That's so exciting! You certainly did bypass all that anxiety, the "will it be a sticky baby" thoughts, the impatience of knowing the sex and seeing a baby versus a blob!!

So happy for you! Your fiancé will be so shocked and ecstatic I'm sure!

With my first I went through the same thing had a period for the first three months and the only reason I realized it was because I started throwing up every time I smelt a cigarette!! I even took a pregnancy test when I was maybe a month because I had felt like I was but it was negative so I just blew it off and said it must just be stress.

Wow congrats! I'm jealous.. You're due before me (June 3rd) and I feel like I've been pregnant forever - we found out at about 5 weeks!


My cousin found out a few days before her wedding that she was pregnant and decided to wait until after her wedding to make a doctors appointment and it turned out she was almost 6 months pregnant. She got married in the middle of September and her little girl was born a few weeks premature on the 1st December! Lol..

Congratulations! I'm sorry you missed part of your pregnancy, but on the other hand you did skip the very worrisome first trimester I hope your dr's appointment goes well and you can start enjoying your fregnancy to the fullest! It's going to be such a nice surprise for your OH as well!

i think that happened to my niece. she was 16 and her baby was due when mine's currently do so our babies will be exactly a year apart.

anyway, she had her period for the first four months of her pregnancy. not sure if she knew she was pregnant or not but she didnt tell us til later on, about at 6 months along i think.
