Hey girls,

I start my very first IVF cycle on 21st February.

I'm having a crisis though as was wondering if my BMI will have an effect on the treatment. I've got a BMI of 31. We are paying private for treatment as we don't qualify on the NHS. It's never been mentioned by the clinic I'm using so I've not given it a though but the closer it gets to the date I start down regs on the 21st the more I'm worried about my BMI.

Does anyone have any info or advice?

Anxious 😟

Hi

I believe private will accept your bmi as 35 and below. It's just nhs that say it has to be 30 and below.

Good luck x

I have read that somewhere. It just wasn't mentioned at all so started doing my own research and came across lots of different information and some saying that anyone with a BMI over 30 has reduced chances of successful IVF.. Read so much stuff I feel all over the place!!

Thanks for replying x
