I hope i'm allowed to put this here, i thought i should share in case people don't have INUK on their facebook page, they just posted this:

Research study request from IVF Hammersmith:

The use of the hormone kisspeptin in IVF treatment

We are currently conducting a trial of a hormone called kisspeptin in IVF treatment. The study will investigate whether kisspeptin can stimulate egg maturation in IVF therapy. Research cycles will be fully funded and participation does not affect eligibility for future NHS care.

In order to take part you need to have:
∙ Age 18–34 years
∙ BMI 18-29 kg/m2
∙ Normal menstrual cycles ranging from 24-35 days in length
∙ No more than one previous IVF treatment cycle
∙ Both ovaries intact
∙ Normal Blood tests (E.g. Follicular phase serum FSH concentration (≤12iu/l), Serum AMH (>10pmol/L))

Please email [email protected] if you would like more information

Thank you
Professor Waljit Dhillo, Dr Geoff Trew, Dr Anna Carby

i can't do it because i don't have normal cycles, booo! :(

Ah i cannot do it either as i have a AMH of 2.5 and we have had 2 failed IVF cycles. This is a really good chance for someone to get a free cycle though! Nice of you to share xxx

4magpies and tinkerbell3, best of luck! I really hope you both get to do the trial, it's a great opportunity isn't it? :happydance:

africaqueen, booo for both of us! :hugs: I live in scotland anyway so it probably wouldn't be feasible for me even if I did have normal cycles :haha: very pleased that some other women can benefit from it though :D

I've heard back already, really hoping I can do this but have a horrible feeling my health is going to get in my way as always :(

that's great news, they must be keen for participants :) maybe this will be one of the times that your health doesn't get in the way, i'll keep my fingers crossed that it is :hugs: is it fertility health problems or general health problems? i would love to see someone from BnB getting to do this trial :)

It's regular health stuff, I have cystic fibrosis and diabetes but FX when they say you have to be healthy they'll ignore that haha!
I'd love to be able to do this, mainly because we just haven't got the money to pay for another cycle ATM.

They'll be using the kisspeptin instead of ovitrelle to trigger, and doing icsi plus if it doesn't result in a pregnancy they'll give you a second cycle using normal trigger. It's a great opportunity for those who can take advantage. Hope that's a few people from here :)

my fingers are firmly crossed for you, if you have the two conditions under control I'm sure you will be classed as healthy :D

did you do a cycle on the NHS? I was thinking how amazing this opportunity is for women who only get one go on the NHS! :cloud9:

what happens next? do you have to have tests and things? how do they choose you? :)

I can do it they've offered me an appointment but I don't think travelling back and forth is viable as it would cost us too much.

Bah. OH is going to work it into our budget tonight to see if we can afford it.

xxx

how many times would you have to go back and forward?

I really want to do it :brat:

I just emailed asking about my cycles anyway, it's worth a try :haha:

At least 8 or 9 times. Would cost alot of money.

xx

Yeah I was only entitled to one cycle on NHS, I have to get a letter from my CF consultant before they'll start any treatment which is no problem. Am going to book a consultation, hopefully my IUI will work and I won't need it but feels great to have more hope again.
Will keep you updated with what happens.
