Think this is the one we are considering https://www.kiddicare.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/productdisplay0_10751_-1_100100_10001

I like it because the car seat doubles as a carrycot as it lies flat, can also lie flat in the car so good for longer distances, plus with an added mattress baby can sleep in it if we are visiting hubby's family.
Although it looks pricey, I think by the time we save on not buying separate car seat, base, carrycot and initial travel cot it's not too bad. What do you think?

thats lovely and not as expensive as others I have seen!

Does it come in different colours?

Oh that's the pram I wanted. I had a Jane powertwin for my middle 2 and it was seriously the best buggy I have ever used. I walked nearly 9 miles a day 5 days a week with it and often took it round the Derbyshire Peak district. Its now on its 3rd owner since me and going strong. I knew I wanted a slalom as soon as I got pregnant with this one. But it doesn't fit in my car!!!! OUCH OUCH OUCH. Dh got his choice with a Bugaboo Cameleon, same as we had for our 4th child, but by far I prefer the Jane.
I didn't see why I just couldn't take a car seat our of our car and leave dh at home so I could have the Jane, he wasn't amused. :haha:

Blue kat yep it comes in red and yellow too as far as I can see.

Skydragonfly, we're going to look at it in a few weeks at kiddicare, so hopefully we can see if it fits in the car! Do you have a particularly small car or is it just huge when folded!! I've got a citreon c4 which hubby's traded in his beloved car for so would be gutted if it didn't fit in!
Good to know it should last too, as we hope to use it for future babies too, I like the green colour because of that too.

I've got a Ford Galaxy, its just that this is child number 5 and the pushchair will have to fit behind the 2 back seats. It does fold down quite small, just not small enough for me, the front wheel sticks out too much for me to shut the tailgate. I wanted the green colour too.

oh no!!! i can fit my slalom in the boot of a ford Ka! The front wheel folds down level with the rest of the buggy making it flat

i have the old version of this (doesnt have reversible seat unit) and absolutely love it. When i was first pregnant the whole system was too expensive for us and we ended up with a silver cross which we hated and sold within 6 months to buy the Slalom lol.

I wanted to keep it for baby 2 but we also needed a double, we now own the slalom and the powertwin pro!!!!

to sum it up BUY IT! lol

Wispa, even folded flat I just couldn't shut the tailgate. I could fit the Powertwin in the boot of dh's fiesta. Its just that its such a narrow space behind the 2 back seats, its big car but no boot space with all the seats in.

I'm getting one of these!! My friend is giving me hers, its not even been used, she's letting me have it for £25!! It doesnt have the bit for a pushchair but thats ok as we still have DS's one but I love the look of that one! I dont know where you can buy the pushchair bit for this one tho

That buggy is so popular in Spain everyone wants that one.

aw thats such a shame, id be gutted if the buggy didnt fit in our boot, we are yet to try the powertwin in our boot, i assume it will fit being an estate car but the powertwin seems a lot longer than the Slalom when folded so bit worried about that lol

I love teh idea of a layflat carseat!!!

I always think newborns in car seats look a bit scrunched up and not very comfy!

i love it because you can use it as a car seat in the car, put it on the pram (without waking baby!) and recline it into a carrycot!!!

you can also use it as a carrycot carseat so the baby lies flat in the car across two seats

Ooh you made me jump seeing my old post bumped up like that :haha:
I thought about this too, I've only seen it on kiddicare and I'm hoping they sell everything that goes with it too. I have a feeling all the Jane range is interchangeable so the foot muff will go with any of the travel systems, I think! I'll let you know if I find out when we go in a few weeks.

I have the predesessor of this and though it was really expencive to buy I have loved it and used it loads its easy to menover around shops and over really rough terrain (we live on a farm). We decided to go for the carrycot and rebel car seat as I found the matrix a bit heavy (shoulder injury) and I used the carrycot in the car for long jouneys and when LO was going to spend a lot of time in it as the Carrycot also doubles as a car restraint. We decided to change the car seat this time and have gone for the strata which allows the perfect position for baby with the adjustable back rest without the extra weight of the matrix. I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE my slalom and would not swap it for anything only another slalom SO worth the money and if that is what worries you just well it on ebay after the systems go or around £300

the accessories are interchangable unless it states otherwise

Just hopping back in to 2nd Tri.. seems like a long time ago since I was here... we went up to Kiddicare and fell in love with the Jane Solo Reverse plus Matrix carrycot/carseat.. I can honestly say it was/is our best buy.... we also got it REALLY cheap because it was "shop soiled" (it didn't have a box)...

:)
