Jem's Newly Engaged and Getting Married in April 2013 Journal!

Hi ladies

Me and my partner recently got engaged and I wanted to pop down to this section to get some inspiration as I don't really know where to begin

First of all we've got an intimate family engagement party planned for the 9th of October and if any of you ladies have thrown anything similar, then I'd love for some of your ideas or advice. OH's mum is providing food, my mum is getting a cake done but other than that I don't know how to keep people entertained Anyone know any good party games?

Also, I wanted a really nice way of announcing who we've chosen to be our bridesmaids and best man so any suggestions for that is good too

Another problem I have is deciding on who to invite as well. I want everyone to be there but A LOT of the people in my family do not get on with my dad and his partner but I know that they will be upset if I don't invite them. OH's dad isn't invited either because he's not allowed inside OH's mum's house This wedding is going to be hard work to organise, I can tell

Anyway, I'm on board I don't know a lot about planning weddings so I'll probably be on here a lot asking for your help and advice

congrats on your announcement i think personally its your special day so you should invite who you want fi they are going to fight and argue then thats very immature of them they should put their differances asside for you afterall its only for one very special day

We haven't picked out an exact date yet, but it will either be the 20th or the 27th most likely. We could be getting married on the same day maybe

Yeah it's very hard trying to sort out guest lists and table plans and everything. There are certain people who will refuse to sit on the same table as someone else and then if you invite certain people then you'll upset someone else for not inviting them and it just goes on and on

I hope people will put aside their differences for the day, it just depends on how much they have to drink as well...
