Hey girls.
I've seen most of you are really early still or just coming out of first trimester. I've noticed so many of you girls are in such a rush to buy everything, and while it is so good you are prepared, you'll regret it later when you 20-30 weeks sitting at home bored and cant go shopping cause you already have to much stuff.

Just a tip to try relax and enjoy the pregnancy and slow down a little :haha:

Lol I know you're right. But i'm so addicted already. I know further along i'm gonna be sorting out my nursery (painting, arranging, washing clothes and sorting them.) So i'm hoping that'll keep me occupied :)

I completely agree with what you say! It's just I know I won't be bored later because when I'm 20-30 weeks I'll feel the baby move and I can interact with him/her :flower: Plus, most of my stuff will be coming from my babyshower in February

Completely agreed! We have just started shopping in the last couple weeks, will pick up a few things every once in a while, and it is nice doing that now! We are no where near done shopping, but also have 2 baby showers coming up and will be getting lots then. If we had bought things starting in first tri, I feel like I would have nothing to keep these weeks from dragging so much.

Agreed, 100%. I got everything so early because people just gave me stuff left and right that I have nothing left to buy and it's so sad ! I just want to go out and buy him stuff but there's just nothing for me to get. ):

Yeah I know, I love feeling LO move but it doesn't really keep me occupied as much anymore.
That sounds bad :haha: But I mean like, it happens constantly all the time so it doesn't really have the same effect anymore.

I know hey! I started buying at 20 weeks and I'm already bored, although I do have some things I still need to do. I would've gone insane if I had finished ages ago!

Agrreeeedd!
Just cause babies moving it doesnt mean you'll be occupied, lol its a 24 hour thing.
Luckily we didnt have the nursery free untill, I was 27 weeks so it helped that we have that to do now. But I bought 2-3 outfits everytime I went shopping and now I cant buy any clothes, or stuff because of babyshower coming up & I keep telling people we DONT need clothes so hopefully at my shower ill get stuff other then clothes :p

Also! Dont worry about being huge with a bump, its hot, uncomfortable and finding clothes is just annoying... Enjoy being small! (&& thats coming from someone who is super small for almost 32 weeks...)

Make sure you do it in plenty of time though. I was in hospital for a month before LO was born + my OH had to go out + buy things on his own, and he kept getting things I didn't like :dohh:
It's such a pain, because you want to get things in time, but you don't want to be bored in the early or late stages :haha:

I think a perfect time to start really buying is around 20 weeks. I ended up buying a few outfits each week and now I have heaps, so I'm holding off on buying anything until the baby shower to see if I get the things I still need.

Definately. Unless you see something on sale that you need before then. Plus if you find out the sex you'll probably want more pink/blue things anyway :flow:

I actually disagree, only because I had horrible SPD from 30 weeks, I could barely move. I also went into labour at 32 weeks, was in hospital for a week then on bedrest, so had to rush around and get the pram etc. I will be getting things earlier next time! x

Yeah completely agree with all this! :)

20 weeks is the perfect time to buy things. Because if you buy them any earlier then find out the gender, you kinda wish you hadnt and you could get all gender specific things.

I think if you buy a few bits and pieces each week from 20 weeks+ that's the ideal thing to do.

Also, in the first weeks up until 20 weeks+, I suggest going out with friends and doing things you won't be able to do when your more of a walking bump :p I didn't do that and I regret it.

:flower: x

Exactly my first point Hun. I never even had time to pack my hospital bag, I had to tell OH what to bring :nope:

Luckily I was ultra-prepared and had my hospital bag semi-packed. I rememeber asking my OH to bring me a new bra in, he ended up bring a old bra about two sizes too small :dohh:

Oh! Of course thats different. I just mean all the girls who are 7-10 weeks who are already so unbelievably worried about having everything ready.

Agreed!

Not really because I'm bored and like having shopping to do.. but I'm glad I didn't rush into buying everything when I was first pregnant because I would have made lots of silly decisions and wasted money! Doing it nice and slowly means you can research products and find out what the best sort of things to buy are.. and what things you don't need/what brands to avoid etc. You also have more time to look on Ebay etc. which means you're more likely to spot a bargain.

xx
