Just had my last MW appointment before due date - fundal height again

I've just had my last MW appointment before my due date - eek. My baby is now 3/5th's engaged and most of my checks were normal apart from my fundal height again. At my last 2 appointments i've been 3cm's behind and no one seems concerned. I've been 2cm's behind at most of my appointments, apart from one where I actually measured right for my weeks so the growth seems to have been all over the place??

Should I be worried? I've got no more contact now until i'm term +2 (if I go overdue) due to the Easter holidays.

Anyone else been this far behind and not had any investigations?

I wouldn't worry hun....fh is one of those things that is never an exact measurement and they told me that anything within 3cm either direction is still normal and they are mostly looking at an increase of 1cm per week more than the number matching gestation. They would have done saomething if they were worried Good luck!!

Hi Hun. If MW is not concerned you shouldnt be either, FH is definitely NOT an exact science, Im sure baby is fine, if they were worried they would have sent you for a growth scan and even then babys measurements could have been normal please dont worry xxx

Same but different - I'm 2cm over, before I had been same cm's as weeks - midwife said it's not an exact science and 3cm's either way is perfectly fine - apparently you can get smaller as they head down because there's less of them to measure.

Same here, my dr says 2 cm either way is normal. BUT, keep in mind, once the baby drops and starts engaging, your fh will also be less. As long as your fh is increasing each visit, theres usually no concern.

Also, I think it depends on who's measuring you. I had different midwives at 36 and 38 weeks. 36 weeks I was 34cm, 38 weeks I was 38cm. I'm pretty sure I didn't grow 4cm in 2 weeks when I only grew 1 cm the 2 weeks before that! It's not exact and if they're not worried then you shouldn't be. xx
