my landlady fished out some anbesol out of the cupboard because i couldn't find his bonjela, couldn't find an expiry date so asked her if it was okay - she said she reckoned it would be fine so went ahead and put some on joels gums

then found the date afterwards and it's 5 years gone

is it still 'safe' to use? whether it's ineffective i'm not too worried about it's more just the potential side effects if any

found his bonjela too secs later aswell

I personally wouldnt worry, its only lidocaine, it tends to become less effective with age but wont poison him.
