...it does!! *RANT ALERT!*

I've been having problems with my not-so-lovely manager since I was returned to work following my diagnosis of SPD by a specialist physio when she gave me crutches so I could actually leave the house. 12 days ago I raised an issue with my working environment which, in my opinion, posed a health risk to me. Removing the risk simply involved me moving desks, but she said I was not allowed as it would cause an inconvenience to my colleagues. I've had a few days off sick since we had this conversation, probably not helped because of where I sit. Today she pisses me off by asking me to do another task which I will find difficult and painful, yet when I point out to her that I can only do it if my health allows it, she has the cheek to tell me how understanding she's been so far by letting me have time off for all the medical appts I've had to go to. Is she on another planet or am I just being far too sensitive about the whole thing?! I'm legally allowed time off for medical appts so she's doing me no favours by 'allowing' me to go.

Rant over for the time being.

what a bitch!!! hope it works out for u in the end xxx

What a cowbag!!

Work are being a bit crap for me at the moment as well..I've got a bad back from working in a lab, and occupational health won't provide extra measures because it's not a permanent problem:growlmad: So I basically just have to put up with it until I go on leave...god knows how we got that "Investors in People" award!!

Do you have a decent HR manager? It sounds like you need to 'remind' your manager that you are legally entitled to time off for medical appointments and that your health should always be taken into account - and a potential health risk for a pregnant woman would far outweigh an 'inconvenience' for people who are perfectly healthy. After all, if you are planning to return to work after your maternity leave you would be perfectly willing to move desks back after I'd guess?

I had some problems whilst pregnant as the lousey part of my role involved receiving deliveries and things and my colleagues were leaving heavy deliveries on my desk for me to cart round the corner! I read up on our companies hr policies and wrote a carefully worded email to my manager which ended up with him reminding people to be considerate of the pregnant woman - which did work.

There is no way you are being too sensitive, she is taking clear advantage of you. If you have a HR department I think you need to ring them and bring up your concerns - or email your manager and cc them in. Please don't let yourself be bullied into doing things that are putting you at risk, they should never put you in a situation like that! :hugs:

she's bang out of line hon, speak to your union asap!s

The HR department are USELESS. She's caused me problems before and they have done nothing. They don't know their arses from their elbows!! Will definitely call my union tomorrow though when I've had time to mull it all over.
