Just wondering I'm currently 28 weeks pregnant and at the moment there is only me and my partner (and the cat!) in the household and I always do a wash no more than two a week mainly Friday night or Saturday after partner finishes work. I wash his work clothes. At the moment after been given a
Million baby clothes off SIL I've got the washer on a quick wash everyday just to get the baby clothes done.
Just wondering do you find yourself after LO is at the age of weaning or adventuring in feeding themselves youre putting that extra wash load on?

I think I only do 1 extra wash a week (sometimes 2 I guess) now. but at the start, i think I was doing a load every other day. LO was a very sick baby at the start, but now is rarely sick so clothes dont need changing during the day generally. xx

Most of the time 2 extra loads a week now, but she has been spitting up a lot, i went through 4 shirts yesterday. Lol, i also have to do one pink load separate with all her pink stuff :)

Im not doing that much more washing, mainly my clothes that get sicked on not babies.. his stay relatively clean. Maybe 1 more wash a week.

If it were just baby clothes, I would say an extra 2 washes a week, but as I have his cloth nappies as well, I wash them every other day with whatevers lying around.

I do 1 wash extra every 1.5 weeks with just her bits :). Soph is never sicky or anything so I suppose that helps :)!

Thanks ladies just wanted to know for cost of tabs and extra water :).. But Ive just looked through the clothes ive been given and I've got 250 mixed sized mainly 3-6 months bodysuits and about 90 0-3 babygrows so lucky I don't have to go out and buy any and all of them are white or got unisex pics on e.g a bunny or slogans e.g cuddly, cute etc :)

In the beginning I was washing LO's laundry every other day. She's a reflux baby so was sick quite a bit. I'm now down to about 2 loads a week of just her stuff. Although I've noticed her clothes/bibs are staining now that I'm not washing her stuff as frequently.

Hah you can probably have your LO wear one outfit a day and never have to wash anything if you have that many!!

About a thousand! I don't know where it all comes from.. I do 1-2 loads a day for me, OH and LO!!

ME TOO!!! And i've been wondering the same thing...... Though LO can have some explosive poopies... Though a big part of doing it so often is i try to avoid stains, when i wait they tend to stain the clothes and that drives me nuts.

well, now there are three of us (one weening baby) the machine is on 'most days':nope:
when it was the 2 of us it was on maybe 2-3 times.

Hehe same here! LO has reflux so we all change clothes a minimum of 3 times a day! Thankfully we have lots of tiled and wood floors or we'd be washing carpets just as much!

2-3 extra washes a week. If I didn't have nappies it would probably be an extra wash a week in the early days it was 2 extra washes. I didn't start using cloth nappies until his cord had fallen off and I started to feel better.

Its gone from two washes a week to three washes a week for us. I've found that its stayed the same through all of his baby ages, the first ones were mostly poo/sick stained and nowadays its food stains! xx

I do 1 load a day for me, OH and LO. I bung everything in the wash after LO has gone to bed with a colour catcher sheet then I put it on the airer before I go to bed and finish it in the dryer in the morning. I'm obsessed with emptying the washing basket though!

I also use cloth nappies which means an extra 2 washes a week xx

Before LO we probably did one wash a week. I admit I probably really overfill my washing machine - if i can just about get my hand it and move it a bit that's what I consider full. On the other hand my parents have about 75% air space in their machine and 25% clothes when they consider it full!

Since LO we do one extra wash a week. He was a very sicky newborn (oh the fun of reflux!), was just in vests and sleepsuits for the first 3 months (winter) and we probably had to change all his clothes on average three times a day. We had about ten nice sleepsuits and we just kept popping to Tescos to get more 3 packs of plain white ones (only about £4 i think!) for the first few days. 20 or so sleepsuits, 20 or so vests and a few moses basket sheets and cellular blankets (all tiny) plus bibs and muslims happily fitted into one load.

About the same since weaning/crawling. An outfit usually lasts him all day (but is pretty dirty by the end) but clothes are bigger.

One thing I did find was we really needed a tumble drier. We thought about getting one a year or so before but as the only place to put it was the shed we decided not to. Ordered one within a fortnight of having LO and couldn't have lived without it especially at first!

Maybe 1/2 a load more per week. We only do 1 load of laundry a week and often we can just toss his stuff in with ours.

Me too :haha: The washing machine is always on! I'm turning into my mum!

Ive always had this fear about just sticking everything in besides OH socks, underwear and uniform they'd go together but with everything else it had to be weight and colour sorted.

The things I've been given are mainly white with embroidered pattern/slogan on but there is a set of bright colours, red green and blue patterened babysuits which i just can't put in the wash with anything else! haha

& I think when peanut arrives I'll be doing their own washing load seeming it looks like I'm stocked up for a while until 6 months on bodysuits and sleepsuits :)
