I was just wondering really, are other people still worried about what their parents will say when they get pregnant with #1, no matter how old you are?

I'm 25 and it's always been me an my dad and for some silly reason I would still be scared of telling him even though i'm old enough and know it's ridiculous, but you always feel like daddy's little girl don't you?! lmao

Just random I know!

It just makes me nervous thinking about the fact that my dad will know how I got that way... hahaha

lol true, that thought hadn't even crossed my mind. My worry is, it is drummed into you for so long not to get pregnant, my brain would be like "ooo you're so bad!, you're in trouble" lol it makes me giggle when I think of it!

Haha that's EXACTLY what I keep thinking. I'm really nervous about my husbands parents mainly though because his dad is really... judgmental.

Lol, yeah I hear ya, I worry about what my SO's mom will say, although he says she will be absolutely thrilled (and she is a wonderful woman and has 5 wonderful grandkids already and loves them all so much).

I'm trying not to focus on it right now though because I'll go mad. We just went out to dinner with them and since TTC is pretty much the only thing on my mind I felt like it was stamped on my forehead haha. :dohh:

Why do you think your FIL would be judgemental, I can see you're married, so what more could he judge? If you don't mind me asking?

I get all freaked out that my MIL is going to figure it out because I never drink even a glass of wine when we are out for dinner with them anymore lol she even mentioned something about it at Christmas, like "Uh, is there something you need to tell us?" and I just blamed it on trying to keep fit and that alcohol gives me headaches haha

Some people are judgemental no matter what, especially concerning finances etc. I don't know what Babydustx3's situation is but I know that is a concern that a lot of people in "new" marriages that I know have gone through with their parents and parents in law. I guess they forgot what it was like to be young and starting a family.

He's...difficult lol. That's probably the easiest way to put it.

Omg, I forgot about the wine. You're totally right. My husband and I bought a house right nextdoor to his parents (my husband and I have our own renovation business and this was the first house we flipped). So, I used to go nextdoor a lot for wine nights. I haven't been to them since the Holidays and when we went out tonight, like I said I felt like I was just gonna blurt everything out haha. I need to get a grip ladies. lol

ahhh ok i can understand the finance thing.

Babydustx3, if they ever ask just say it was you new years resolution (you said you haven't drunk since the holidays) and that you're managing to stick to it :)

Very good idea! :) If/when I do get a BFP I want to try and hold out until my second trimester but seeing how it's so hard to keep TTC quiet, I don't know how well that will work lol.

Aww! Well that's awesome though. He gave you the "okay" I guess you could say haha.

I think my Mum is going to be thrilled!! I haven't mentioned anything to her about ttc as I really want it to be a surprise. Although she did mention to my sister that she thinks we'll be having kids soon! My Dad will be chuffed as well!

i worry about this too. my mom was so upset when i had a miscarriage (yes i know the circumstances were different then) but i still remember the way she reacted and im scared of getting the same one again. the rest of the family will be thrilled.

:( I'm really sorry for your loss. That is probably really hard to explain to people. I wish you the best and hope you get a sticky bean soon <3

I'm sorry too for you loss, and i'm sure you mum will be happy for you when you do get a bfp, she just wants her daughter to be happy and healthy i'm sure and woud rather you had a H&H 9 months rather than deal with a mc again. So good luck to you, hope it sticks this time round!

And I wish my dad would ask when he's going to be a grandad, must ease your mind a bit. My dad just keeps telling me that for my own good i should not marry or have children with my bf lol not his decision and my bf is amazing, i could do so much worse. So particuarly scared when i get a bfp and have to face my dad lol guess no-ones going to be good enough for his only child/daughter, eh?!

I understand the feeling, but I think at least in my situation, my dad would be sooo excited to be called a grandpa again and and another little one to run around with!! There is something so special about being a "Grandfather" to them. Its so exciting!!
