Keeps waking up after 8mins?

As the title says really, last night and tonight, 8mins on the nose he wakes up, if I'm lucky dummy in and back off with no tears in a few minutes, if not lucky, could be 3hours before sleep!

What's going on at 8mins precisely?

So he never sleeps longer than 8 mins or just after the first time of falling off? Not sure what could be going on as it sounds like lo isn't able to get into a deep sleep at all. You must be exhausted

Our sleep was absolutely appalling at your Lo's age but we weren't up every 8 mins so you have my sympathy x

He's been asleep longest for 1hr 12 so far tonight, and of that 4 x 8mins only, wondering if its the 10m stir/jolt they are supposed to get? Perhaps he has his a little before 10m exactly?

Just struggles to drop off fully I think, it's like it takes him a few goes at it first

Hi didn't want to read and run when I first read your post it reminded me of when my daughter cluster feeds sometimes at night. But she's only 5 days old and it's more common in breastfed babies up to 8 weeks old cause there still adjusting to the outside world so eating and being close to mom is comforting and reminds them of being in the womb. Your sons a bit older than my daughter so it's probably a different situation I've never heard of the 10 min jolt but I'm a ftm the first time my daughter stayed up all night wanting to feed it scared me cause I never heard of cluster feeding. Id say bring it up to your pediatrician next visit to get some reassurance and some ideas on how to handle it and maybe help him get into a deeper sleep.

How do you get him to sleep, isabelle always used to do this then I found if I stayed with her an extra 5 /10 mins after her falling asleepand pat her bum or stomach she wouldnt do it

Working on him going to sleep without being rocked/walked/bounced, etc, think I just need to sit there until he's past that 8/10min cycle change out of light sleep, only early evening he does it, usually, usually only early evening! Don't to invoke bnb curse and have him do it all night tonight lol!
