Hello, first time I've started a post probably going to be pretty long (I'm not v concise!), sorry...
I have had pains in my right side/back for a couple of days, which comes and goes but started v suddenly and each 'episode' is really painful and doesn't ease for at least 5-10 mins and I have to try and sit still for ages in order for it to fade. I went to docs yesterday and there is some blood and white blood cells in urine so having it tested to see if it's an infection, but I also suffer from kidney stones so it could be that as well (scrapes and pushes stuff through).
The last time I had a stone (popped out so knew it was one) I somehow didn't have any pain (only lots of UTIs that didn't clear until I passed the stone), so the only experience of the type of pain was about 10 years ago when it was never confirmed if it was a stone (was being sick with pain, admitted to hospital on a drip), and it was on the other side. So combined with having a large bump as well, I am worried of course if I have pain like before (but I am making sure I drink plenty and take paracetamol so it hopefully won't get to that bad extent again - I hadn't drank a thing then after a heavy night boozing at uni) but I am more worried about it being something else.
The doc did do a physical examination, checking my back, feeling my bump etc but it didn't create any pain.
So my question (finally) is, if it wasn't a kidney stone/infection, what else could it be? I am just worried that what if it's being assumed as this but actually could be something that could harm the baby? As I find I am feeling very tender generally on that side, including at the edge of my bump at times, which I guess could be from being tender anyway, but I just want to check it wouldn't be my placenta or something (posterior). Baby has been moving lots still so he seems ok, but can't help worrying...
And has anyone else passed a stone in pregnancy? Heard it can be pretty traumatic and take a long time because tubes are pushed to the side - any advice?
