I have a "normal" BP of approx 130/80 and whitecoat syndrome which makes it much higher in a clinical setting e.g. 150/100 at the hospital yesterday. My obstetrician was put me on labetalol to bring this down.
I also have GD, currently diet-controlled and almost all of my readings are within my target range.
Since starting the labelatol yesterday my blood sugar readings have either been at the very top of my target or over (highest was 9.4 after breakfast this morning when should have been less than 7.8).
According to Dr Google labelatol is known to affect blood sugar. If thats the case I think its a bit strange to prescribe to someone with GD!
Does anyone have any experience of this?
