labour question? UPDATE ~1

Hey all, i hope to be joining you all very shortly as im now 3 days overdue.

So my question is how did you, if any of you did help your labour to progress.
I saw my consultant 2day altho im not happy with her as she didnt check lo AT ALL, all she did was try n fob me of to someone else altho after much coaxing she finally gave me a mini sweep (said she didnt have the time to do a proper one.) My cervix is very soft n 1/2-1cm dialated.

Any tips on how to help labour along, im really really hating being overdue

I'm currently 3-3 1/2 cm dialated my cervix is really stretchy, had another S&S mw said she thinks shes stretched it more.

i dont think there is anything you rally can do. they will come when ready unfortunately. but going on a few long walks wouldn't hurt. I hope your little man comes soon

I didn't go into labour on my own. I tried literally EVERYTHING (apart from sex no OH at the time!) i had 2 sweeps and it didn't work, i was 2 and a half cm dialated for nearly 2 weeks, and ended up being induced.
Just be patient, what will be will be

Nothing at all, you've just got to let nature take its course most the time... I had to be induced as I was 2cm dilated for almost two weeks and still nothing happened, I tried pineapple to soften the cervix, walking, walking up and down a massive hill, birthing ball, sex and nothing worked! However it's still worth trying all those things as they are proven to help soften the cervix or lower the baby so it'll help in labour anyway. Hope baby comes soon xx

I went 11 days overdue.. I tried most things. Let me just steer you away from Pineapple if you're thinking about it.. I literally ate a whole fresh pineapple and it didn't do much apart from give me seriously bad bowels..

Well im now in labour 3-3 1/2 cm dialated
had another S&S n mw thinks she may have streched me to 4cm shes not 100% sure as it HURT when she tried to check (had a very long contraction)
