Now I know my LO is head down :happydance:, I'm all set for my VBAC (fingers crossed).

I've packed my bags, but I'm not sure what snacks to take for labour? Last time I never got very far before being sent for an emergency c-section as DS was a previously undiagnosed breech. So I don't really know what works well during labour? I know I will need to keep my blood sugar up as I feel really sick and actually throw up if I get very hungry.

Any tips or suggestions? I was thinking of some dried fruit, crackers and cereal bars, but that won't keep me going for a long labour.

Jaffa cakes are fab - used to have them when I was swim training first thing in the morning, low fat and lots of carbs and they taste yummy xx

I thought about packing cereal bars, crisps, choccie bics, chocolate, some of those energy sweets you get too, all things to keep my blood sugar up. And OH will need to munch on these things too. Our birthing centre provides toast and cereal. I will probs back some bottles of lucozade too x

I never ate throughout my labour. I went 25hrs or so without food. I also vomitted before I started the gas and air so idk if you'll want snacks. Drinks would be a better idea and those little lucozade energy tablets.

Oh and dont forget about your birthing partner(s)!

i went into holland and barrat and they had an offer on buy 2 get 3rd free so i got some dried fruit and some chocolate brazilnuts lol and some banana chips (energy food) got a couple of packets of each got home and my kids ate them lol so i gotta get some more !!!

I hardly ate a thing in 37 hours, had to drink lucozade etc tho as I had ketones in my urine. TBH food will be the last thing on your mind. I managed to push my son out in 10 mins and could have skipped up and down the hospital aferwards. I think the adrenaline rush kept me going. Good luck x

Ive packed some crisps, cereal bars, some haribo and my dh went to a sports shop and got some of those energy bar things. The guy said they're for cyclists that need a burst of energy quickly. I want some cadburys boosts too, just because i love them. Whether i get to eat any of this is another matter.

We are taking some sandwiches which will be packed at the last minute. This is more for my OH than me. We were recommended this at the antenatal classes.

So far, I've just packed some dried apricots and a bag of nuts. Not sure whether I'll want them but they are there if I do and for DH as well.

last time i packed lots of energy sweets and cereal bars but tbh i didn;t eat anything in just over the 24 hr labour as i just dodnlt think about it BUT i was so glad of them afterwards whilst i was feeding my daughter all night long and the ward was busy, i munched away and it really kept me going. will be packing the same this time and also some bread rolls or hot cross buns that i can nibble on as we woked out that apart from a slice of toast right after the birth, i hadn;t eaten a meal for almost50 hrs! x

i couldnt eat anything in labour , was in too much pain , then they bring you toast after birth... a fry up would have been nice after all that hard work & effort but no!! :haha:

but the day after birth i had a few biscuits etc.. in my bag
