or just come off birth control!

Have your AFs changed from before at all??

I have pcos aswell but before i had my lo my afs were really heavy and had quite a few large clots (sorry tmi!)
But since comming off the pill 4 months ago im now having my second bleed and its really light compared with before and theres only tiny clots!!

Would you say this is normal???
I used to get alot more cramps too but i have had none!!

Im just a bit worried as they used to be all over the place before and it took years to get pg so im noy sure if its a good thing or not!? They are much more regular to and i seem to get spotty, crampy and sore boobs in the middle of the cycle which would indicate ov but im rubbish at temping at the mo coz my lo keeps waking me up at different times so i dont actually know if im ov or not!

eny advice would be much appreciated!!

xx

Well I havent had any kids but before birth control, I believe that I was pretty regular. I had my period for three years before I got on it and was on it for like five years so I am really trying to remember!

I seem to remember being able to know when I was going to be on AF when I was younger so I could plan things accordingly. After stopping birth control, I havent ovulated for four months. I took my last provera pill three days ago and waiting for AF so I can start clomid.

I would say that once your body goes through hormonal changes, it is gonna act very differently until it gets back on track which could take forever. If you are really that concerned, just give your dr a call. Most places have like a nurses line where you can leave your question and a nurse will call you back, so you dont have to go in and spend the money on a visit.

good luck with everything.

My periods have been slightly different since the birth of my son. A little longer but not as heavy. BC and being prego both effectively do the same thing, in that they change your hormone levels. I have been looking at my pregnancy as sort of a reboot for my system, before my cycles were a little out of whack and now they are getting back to pretty regular. I've also noticed that I don't get cysts as often as before I had DS.

Mine are still regular etc but I used to suffer with really bad period pain before I had my son. Since having him I hardly notice AF. Even after having the coil out recently they have been fine, not as heavy or painful!

mine have gone longer i uesd to have a 24dc now 26 after having my 1st and all so it is a lot lighter than befor i had them

My periods used to be like 6 or 7 days, but after coming off of birth control they are only 3.5 days. I still have horrible cramps though. I have read that birth control thins your lining making your periods shorter and lighter.

this is very common as period paid is caused by your cervix moving

during labour (as you know) your cervix has to stretch way beyond normal movment in your monthly cycle which is why most women find period cramps stop after pregnancy and labour

mmy periods got lighter

I had realy bad PCOS beforehand and only had 2-3 af's a year but after having LO I have gone to 32 day cycles every month.
Some months are lighter then others and I dont seem to be getting as much cramps as before.
I havnt actualy been retested to see whats going on with the PCOS but im pretty sure it seems to have settled itself down at least better ten it was beforehand

Since I've had DS and my M/C's my periods have shortened, but the only time I have clots is when I've m/c or had a chemical. I'm not saying that is what is going on with you, probably isn't..... maybe you should ask a doctor, because something else may be wrong...then again, everything may be fine.

Most of my friends and I found our cycles altered after changing/coming off the pill. Mine regulated and I was only on the pill for a month.

for the last 2 days its been slightly more heavy but still no real clots as such (which im guessing is a good thing as iv read that if you have big clots its a sign of and underlying problem!)

This cycle was only 31 days my last was 35 days so im really hoping im going to be regular from now on!!

I havent been back to check on my pcos as my doc is rubbish and i dont think he will do alot for me!!
at my 6 week check he said after pg it should get better so i really hope so!!

Before my DD i had Very regular cycles. Could pin point the day. Thats how i knew i was pregnant with DD. Didnt go back on bcp right away after i had her and they were regular. I am now 3 months off bcp and have only gotten my 2nd true af since the end of june. Its different and all over the map. It sucks, but i think if you are really worried, go talk to your doctor. You know your body best. Good luck!
