I know this has been a topic in the past but it just occured to me during my shower that I've not been keeping up with the 'maintenance' of things down below:rofl:

It's not something I've ever discussed with the midwife but does anyone know if we need to be trimmed right back (so to speak) or could I get away with a bit of inventive topiary:oops:

Also, if we do need to be completely 'bare', is it ok to use hair removal cream to do the entire job or does it mean the razor?

Hope I've not conjured up any unwanted images  but it's something I've only just thought about!!

I am not waxing my hair off for labour i didnt do it before and wont then. Admitly i shaved it in the past and paid for it with the itching and much prefer to look like some sort of road kill animal lol

I probably will ask Oh to trim it as it can be braided at the mo its grown long :O

This is something that I've already been worried about... probably cos it's my first baby and am so shy... I have previously put off smear tests for months and months just to avoid the embarrassment! I know that'll go out the window after having baby... but still.. I do find it difficult!

Great question frenchy, I was thinking that I'll try and be neat.. but would love to see what other people think!!

No i agree i dont think you NEED to, sometimes they do have to shave you to get to certain bits or if they need to do tricky stuff.

I'm just letting my OH shave mine when he see's fit, im starting to lose sight of it so he's the only one that can tell me lol

They don't shave you anymore. It used to be standard procedure but they discovered nicks and little cuts caused by the razor did more damage due to infection than good.

You can be as eu-natural as you like hunni! There is no medical reason why you need to be trimmed, so just do what makes you happy and comfortable x x

I'm shaven down there all the time, so I'm gonna go in shaven. But I'm embarrased about my mother seeing it. She doesn't know I'm completely bald down there lmao, so she's in for a shock ha ha ha.

LOL im almost completely shaven just a little at the top, the only reason i have that is because last time i was pregnant my mum went off saying please grow it because otherwise its like a child! i prefer it all gone tbh but i thought rather than putting up with my mother going off on one again ill keep a bit lmao!!

Hahaha. That's exactly what my mum said about that programme that was on, having the perfect vagina or something? Every one was bald & she'd comment "Oo no,they look like a childs" I'm like, ...........don't say anything donna  I cant leave abit of hair there, it'd annoy me lol.
