well DS saw the psychiatrist (sp?) and I feel a lot better after it. He said in his opinion that DS will start talking about the age of 4/5 and it will probably happen quickly. He said that he may grow out of his behaviours and that if he doesnt he predicts that he will be high functioning and most probably be able to be independent. They will have a meeting soon and contact us for an update and they will continue to monitor his progress. I finally feel like we are getting somewhere and feel a lot more hope for the future of my gentle, loving little boy

Aw bless, that is some seriously needed light at the end of the tunnel for you I bet :hugs:
I'm so pleased for you hun :flower: xxxx

That's wonderful news hun. I know I have said it before but I remember when ds was 2 years old wanting for him to be 10 yrs so I could see how he would be. Each year that passed brought with it brought so much, and speech really came on about age 4-5 for us, the echolalia subsided and he came out of his shell more. Lots of behaviours in the really young years that made things so difficult also changed and became easier mainly to do with socialising.

What services or help do you get for him hun? x

thanks girls. i know whatyou mean, I am trying so hard not to wish the time away, I just want to glimps into the future lol. Hes having portage visits, a funded place in a playgroup and we are still waiting for his first salt session. Thats all at the moment, he is a happy boy though :)
