I know most of us have increased discharge, TMI sorry.. But some fluid just leaked out of me and it's clear. When should I worry? I don't remember this with my previous pregnancies.

If you think it's not just watery discharge and is actual amniotic fluid you should call your Dr ASAP

I know this is my first baby so I dont have anything to compare it to but im not concerned about how much leakage i have.

I wouldnt worry, Ive had a fair bit of discharge. I wear pantyliners so i dont ruin every pair of knickers i own lol.

Sometimes its more clear, other times it kinda milky and other times it can be sticky.

Just part and parcel i think. If your really worried, talk to your midwife

xx

i think it's ok as long as you don't continue to leak fluid. if it just happens every now and then it's just watery discharge but if it's a constant leak, no matter how much, then you should call your doctor right away.

Thanks ladies :) my instinct told me it wasn't serious but I always like getting your opinions :)

I sometimes have "gushes" of very very watery discharge....especially first thing in the a.m. when walking my dog (weird) and also when having a #2, it just comes out. scares me sometimes but when it doesn't continue, I figure it's not amnio. fluid

I get clear watery discharge every so often. Unless it keeps leaking or there's a lot of it I wouldn't worry too much, just keep an eye on it.

I've had this same thing every once awhile after getting up off the couch or rolling over in bed. I kept thinking I was dribbling pee but it's definitely not pee! I talked to my doc about it and she said something about discharge building up in the crevices of the vaginal canal and that the reason I'm getting little gushes when I move is because the little "pool" that has built up is getting squeezed out when I move around. Makes sense I guess. Sorry I couldn't be more "technical" - I forget the exact words she used, but in any case, she said it was normal. It happens to me every few days....

I had this a few weeks back so midwife said to phone hospital. I did and they said unless it could fill a pad and was loads and loads it was nothing to worry about. They said if it was amniotic fluid I would know about it. x

As much as I love this forum... It does make me worry!
Leaking fluid would never even have crossed my mind before!! Lol ;)

so true lol. i've definitely learned about a lot of things from this forum

advice I have just been given from midwife:

lie on your left side for 30 mins, get up, if it gushes out and runs down your leg it's amniotic fluid as it pools in the vagina. if it doesn't it's just discharge.

I am currently led down, if it gushes she advised to go to the labour ward and sit and wait to be seen.

Hope this helps. x

I agree with all the other ladies, i had this happen to me and panicked and went to emergency! They checked me over and ordered an u/s for the next day (it was a sunday :/) and all was well!
Dont panic unless there is alot of it or its constant and you said you are following your instincts which is the best thing :D

Well, it's not like leaking that much discharge is normal for me. If it were normal, I wouldn't have even thought to worry.. But it felt like a lot of fluid, so naturally, I wondered if it was a cause for concern.

i'm glad i'm not the only one. i don't remember having it with my other 3. this time seems to be the exact opposite of my other pregnancies tho. funny that i worry more thru this one than i did with my first. :haha:

this forum can sometimes make ya worry when you read all the bad things that have happened to people, but i don't think i could make it without all you ladies :hugs:. there's so much more to this forum than just the scary things.

A few weeks ago I had what seemed like an increased in watery/clear discharge. I was worried so I called my doc. It was a Friday afternoon so they sent me to admitting at the hospital. They did the ph test and the ferning test, plus ordered me a scan. All came back fine. I still get a bit of discharge (amount a quarter-sized spot on my undies, TMI sorry) leak out when I first get up in the morning, but it stops after that. Despite the negative tests and the u/s being fine, I am still a bit concerned. So going to have a amnio-fluid scan next week to check levels again. I say it's always better safe than sorry, but that's just paranoid me!

Everyday for last week I have a gush of discharge either morning/evening.
I've started putting panty liners on, just so I don't feel soo disgusting down there.

I had this last time and mw sent me to triage - although I was about 32 weeks....They had a look at cervix, still closed, go home

Wouldnt worry unless its continued :)

these last 2 weeks i have noticed a increase in my discharge, often milky and often watery! i often feel quite wet down there (tmi) , go to the loo to find clumps of milky discharge or patches of watery discharge!
i havent been wearing pantyliners and have never had to in my life but i feel now is the tome to start :(!
