Hey all

Well i am expecting AF tomorrow as temp dropped today, exactly the same as last cycle which would mean I have a LP of 11 days. Whilst I realise it is usual to say anything below 10 days is something to worry about, I also realise 11 days isnt ideal.

Is there any way I can increase this?

This cycle just gone I took 120mg of soy CD3-5 and 160mg CD6+7, this had no effect at all other than some mid-cycle spotting. This cycle I am going to try the soy on CD2-6 and hope that ov can be brought forward slightly from CD17 (28 day cycle)

Can anyone help?

I'm in the same boat as far as LP length. I've read that taking Vitex (an herb, not a brand) every day can help naturally lengthen the LP, but it does take a month or two to build up in your system. You can also buy an OTC progesterone cream. Apply 1/4 tsp to your skin every day from the day you ovulate; most women who get their BFP doing this keep using it through the first trimester to help bean stick.

Spooky! My temp also dropped today, I also took soy last cycle, I also o'd on CD17.....and my LP was also 11 days. I have been wondering the same thing about LP - and come to think of it, my last LP was 14 days when I was taking Vitex, so I might go back to that.....
Good luck!

Actually, scrap that. I heard you shouldnt take Vitex and soy together as they cancel eachother out. I also heard you shouldnt take vitex after ovulation...

Thanks ladies.

Can you get the progesterone cream over the counter in the uk? I thought I read somewhere that you couldn't.

I did look into the vitex but also read not to take It with the soy.

I have no idea where you get progesterone cream but to me it sounds like something to take with doctors advice? good luck!

I take Vitamin B complex for mine and it really did work. First cycle taking it there wasn't a difference (11), second cycle did the trick as it went up to 14!, last cycle I unfortunately missed a few days of these vitamins due to moving house and losing the bottle! ... I got a 12-day lp. I'm absolutely positive that the Vitamin B complex helped with the 2nd cycle's length, as I've never had anything near that length before (highest before the vitamins was 12).

You must make sure you take a Vitamin B complex though, as you need to get equal amounts of some vitamins etc and not just the one on its own. I got mine from Holland & Barrett.

You can also take these whilst pregnant, as I think I read they actually help with morning sickness! I've had no side effects whatsoever apart from that my wee is now neon yellow about an hour or so after taking them. Another wonderful side effect is that the sore boobs I got from the day after ovulation until AF have now gone and I only get sore boobs a few days before AF - much better!

Be careful when taking things to tinker with your hormones ladies! Estrogen and progesterone are finely balanced. Soy contains estrogen - if you have too much estrogen you will have too little progesterone and might make your LP worse.

I would ask a doctor's advice first xxxx
