Lh surge just before a period?

Hello ladies im not TTc but thought this was the best place as i know some of u use ovulation sticks as a aid in TTC. I was wondering have any of u had a posiitve LH and then 2 days later or more had AF? Is this a common thing? i did have some EWCM two days ago and now im bleeding and cramping...just wondered any comments much appreciated.

it's apparently why they say you 'shouldn't' use an opk as a substitute preg test as it can give a positive for an LH surge before your period, so while in some cases it is picking up the hormone cz your pg in many cases it's just the normal pre period surge! xx

I learnt my lesson with opks, I took some over a few days and the line got darker (started with no line) but then did another and the line was lighter and first response was bfn...got my hopes up! Oh well you live and you learn. X
