Every time she is lying flat on her back she tries to lift her head up. She's always hated being flat on her back anyway ( prefers to be abit raised ) but it looks like she's trying to get up, then she gets really frustrated ... Makes me worry about her back too

Anyone seen this? Is she trying to sit up? Xx

LO did this when she was Paria's age. She had gotten much more aware of her surroundings and must have been tired of lying on her back all the time. We used to prop her up in a neck pillow, maybe you could try that?

Good idea! I get worried she's hurting her neck/back even she does it cos she looks do frustrated. Also when she does sit up ( with help ) he head is all slumped into her chest, makes me worry about her neck !

Nah, don't worry. Her neck muscles will strengthen soon. Apart from tummy time, you can try to gently pull her up by her arms (as she's on her back), then ease her back down again. Repeat. Two birds with one stone. :winkwink:

Good idea ! Thanks :flower:

My lo has started doing this too, he mostly does it when I'm holding him though, I'm assuming he's wanting to sit up right as well

At 3 months Alice loved being on her front because she could lift up on her arms and look about. I think it strengthened her because she rolled front to back at 12 weeks and sat up on her own at 4 months.

She won't lie on her back now because she's too nosey :haha: We also pull her to sitting (now to standing) as its great to improve her neck muscles.

She wants to see the world mommy! Prop her on a bouncer and give plenty of tummy time. My girl loves to do the airplane too.

I agree do the sit-ups with her. It helps strengthen belly and back and head.

Isabelle has done this since maybe a month old! Its so funny, looks like shes doing stomach crunches haha! Makes nappy changing a nightmare though :/

Hahaha wait until she starts rolling everywhere. I had the nastiest diaper today and I took it off and she proceeded to roll and it went everywhere..

Grab her little hands and help pull her to sitting. She'll love it! It's very normal. Violet did it too. I would pull her up and she'd love it but then she'd want to lean back again. And then forward again. She was basically laying there doing assisted sit-ups!

My lo does the same thing and lifts her legs up in the air at the same time. Not sure why they do this but it's good for their muscles so I'm not worried

Thank you ladies! She does seem to love it when I lift her with her hands to a sitting up position .. She babbles away lol xx

Dylan has started doing this and today managed to throw is weight forward so much he nearly fell out of his bouncy chair!!! He was hanging by one leg, luckily he seemed to think it was funny...

Jordyns been doing this since about 3 months i think, Were always like your going to have some mean stomach muscles here soon aha she's almost 7 months and still does it :P!
